Derek Purser aka DJ Drek

About Me

Biography:
Derek Purser aka DJ Drek aka Derek Alldaffer, born Jan. 19, 1971 in Los Angeles, California, moved to Deutschland(Germany) after joining the Army Aviation Corp in September 1992. It took about 18 months for him to realize he was living in the capitol that drives electronic music throughout the world. The foundation of Derek's soul has been paved with the beautiful sounds, melodies and driving basslines of uplifting European Trance Music. In 1995, Derek's barracks room, which housed his used Technics SL-1210 turntables, became his new safe haven from the world. It was practice time! Cosmic Gate, Kai Tracid, Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Tiesto, Blank and Jones and Marc Et Claude were just a few of the DJ's/Producer's tracks that helped to mold his first ever sets, then and now.
In early 1997, Derek made his first appearance at a small club in Frankenthal, Germany called "The Fun Club". Derek had the time of his life playing in numerous Discotecas all across Central Europe such as The Kufa, The Fun Club, The Riverside, The EuroPalace, The Airport, The Babylon, Tarm, U60, A5, A6, The Fuse and Cafe Central. He shared the DJ booth as the opening and closing acts for International DJs such as Kai Tracid, Beam vs Cyrus, Eiffel 65, Sven Vath, DJ Boozy Woozy, Gigi Agostino, DJ Session One, Blutonium Boy, Voodoo & Serano and DJ Taucher. Being exposed to the European Trance Culture for almost a decade, has undoubtedly been a major force in building the passion that defines Derek's greatest love....Trance!
In late 2002, after ten years in the Fatherland, Derek decided it was time to move back to the United States. The same day he stepped off the plane was the same day he met DJ Havok and DJ Mikus at the infamous Club X in downtown Louisville, KY. He then became "The" Saturday Night Resident DJ at Club X. Each and every weekend, for the next 18 months, Derek worked his crowd into a frenzy. "Build them all night, one track taking over the next until the sun comes up". After his departure from Club X, Derek went on to help pioneer the opening of Club One, The End Zone and The Axis 1 + 2 in Louisville, KY. For current play dates be sure to check Derek's schedule at myspace/derekpurser or www.derekpurser.com .
Derek's future holds delivery of a 36 CD project, perfectly mixed, with all of the best Trance Music has to offer. Be sure to look for it coming soon at www.derekpurser.com .
Currently, Derek is secretly working on his own original tracks to someday rule the Trance world! :).
