It's in the back of my head somehow now. When my heart is exploding & I'm calming myself down to a ciggarette, writing the words that I'm addicted to on my pants, well... it all feels much better now.
It reminds me of all the people that I have met in my life already & all the people that I'm going to meet It reminds me of myself. It's a reflection. A memory in my head. A story told so many times before. It is what's real. It is life. & there is hope. Love is where you can find hope. & you can never give up. & you can never let go.

& getting drunk with my friends.
that's gone & i know that

i accept.
i won't cling to what i had in the past.
but life's a slippery slope,
regret's the steepest hill,
hope for the best,
plan for the worst
& maybe wind up somewhere
in the middle.
& i'm not saying that
i know what i want.
but i know what i don't,
i don't want to rot in my room,
& never know what could have been.
