MUSIC MANAGEMENT, PUBLICITY & TOURING
Supporting and promoting great Canadian independent artists since 2002.
The Story.
What started back in 2002 as a desire to play Planet Smashers songs all day long has turned into something cool and definitely Canadian.
Founded and run by Jordan-na Belle-Isle, Canadian Invasion has evolved over the years into a music management, publicity & touring company. The management roster features Hexes & Ohs, a dynamic electro-pop duo,Matt Stern, a multi-lingual folk singer-songwriter, and Darrelle London, a quirky piano-pop singer-songwriter. Clients include Amanda Mabro (publicity & touring) and Shortwave (publicity). Sheer love of Canadian music has kept Canadian Invasion going throughout the years.
Canadian Invasion first began as a weekly two-hour show on CJLO Radio, Montreal. The music was from the burgeoning indie scene and guests included Cuff The Duke, Luke Doucet, Corb Lund, The Weakerthans, Bedouin Soundclash, Magneta Lane, Uncut, The Stills and Immaculate Machine.
Involvement in the Canadian scene extended beyond radio to other avenues. Jordan-na became engaged in event promotion, tour support and street team marketing for V2 Records. Highlights include a live show headlined by Toronto’s The Golden Dogs and a sold-out New Year’s Eve bash. She held the position of Promotions Director of CJLO and won the award for lifetime achievement at CJLO in 2006.
A move to Toronto has brought Canadian Invasion to the heart of the music scene where it is thriving with new opportunities and inspiration. After working two years at Universal Music Canada, Jordan-na has taken the bold step of pursuing her dreams of artist management and publicity, under the ever-present moniker Canadian Invasion. She continues to be active in the music scene attending festivals and conferences such as Pop Montreal and Canadian Music Week, stage managing at NorthByNortheast, going to shows big and small, and making new friends and connections with people in the industry.
Canadian Invasion is a member of the Music Managers Forum Canada and the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS).Please contact Jordan-na at canadianinvasion [at] gmail.com
