Band Members: My primary bass for most all purposes is my Warwick Corvette standard. Its bubinga body, ovangkol and wenge neck growl aggressively and have a powerful low end coupled with a wonderfully clear top. Fit, feel, look, style, playability and tone - that's just some of the reasons I love my Warwick.
I play through a Warwick CL12 amp. The sound of that 12" speaker pumping out tone is awsome. It is small and light, yet is loud enough for stage use and not so loud the soundman is unhappy. Perfect balance.
I also have an ESP B-304FM. It's got a maple and walnut neck, thru the body. and mahogany wings capped with some beautifully flamed maple. ESP pickups and a 3 band active eq. I recently put some Grover tuners on it and I plan to update it soon with some EMG 35-HZ pickups. Maybe a brass nut too . .
My other basses are in the works. I have a solid mahogany body that I made by hand (project 1). That was both a joy and a pain. I should have not chosen such a difficult shape for my first time. But it did turn out pretty good. It is equipped with EMG 35-HZ pickups. It just needs a neck. The next project bass was born as a Peavey Fury IV in 1996 or 1997 and was the first bass I bought when I started playing again. It was a single pickup, active electronic setup but it will be a dual pickup when I'm done. I'm getting a string-thru Hipshot bridge for its alder body and probably some Carvin HB4 pickups and I will probably get pretty creative with the electronics. I have already cut and reshaped the upper and lower horns on it and may modify the shape more before I'm done.
