DJ Greg G is widely credited for his versatile and innovative personality on the decks. Raised in the Bronx, Greg G always possessed a profound love for music. Initially the cultural movement of hip-hop inspired the DJ but later he learned it was truly the rhythmic sound and beats that captivated him. When Greg G turned forteen, he moved from New York to the quieter streets of Edison, NJ. It was there that he first heard Johnny FX when he began attending teen nights at the former Hunka Bunka in Sayreville. In order to become more involved in the house scene, Greg G started became a promoter for local clubs. After hearing this new music night after night, he became so self-driven that he bought his own Denon 2600, Nemark mixer and taught himself how to blend tracks together. More than a hobby, this soon became a major part of Greg G’s life. Others soon recognized his unique ability to please a crowd and offered him gigs at local nightclubs such as Platinum, Perle, Decko Lounge, Club Abyss, Colosseum, Nanking Lounge, Dolce and Headliners down the shore. Greg G has also opened for well known DJ’s such as Anthony Acid, Ralphie Smooth and Aldo Ron Sanchez. With time, his distinctive sound caught the attention of people in the industry who led him to DJ at revered New York hot spots such as Pacha and Rebel.
Currently, Greg G resides at Glo Lounge in downtown New Brunswick and continues to produce his own mixes. He has also become one of the founding members of Boom Box Global, a website in which few DJs make it into and Antifmradio.com. Additionally, he has created strong ties with local promotion companies such as Trinity and Truth Sessions, NJHA (New Jersey Housing Authority) and Tri-State Entertainment. His aspirations include creating his own original tracks and touring the states and overseas to spread his undeniable gift to the rest of the world.
