About Me

I can't say it a better way than this legend said it: "To tell you the truth, I don't hear the radio much anymore. It really isn't country music anymore. What they're trying to sell is not country music, it's bad rock 'n' roll. They really need better producers in today's music. They're not making music, they're making noise." Ray Price, from Jeff Hale's "Nightlife" interview, January, 2008.No offense meant to pop country fans; whatever you like is good music. Poon Twang likes old school country. Poon Twang is just trying to play country music the way it was originally intended to be. Honest songs, played in an honest way. Sometimes it's ass-kickin' music, other times it's slow and sappy. But it's all good, soulful music. Don't be turned off by the word "country" and assume it all sounds like what you hear on the radio. We play original music, plus some covers of the greats, plus some covers of contemporary people that are playing good ole traditional music. If you like that kind of stuff, stop on out and see us sometime.
