With its origins in the late XX century,Rosario Smowing recreates the dance music of the decades of ..40,..50 and..60; through own songs and arrangements that combine elements of swing, ska, mambo, rockabilly, dixie, tango, latin and steady.It was formed in early 2000 by its frontman Diego Javier Casanova, along with a small group of musicians friends in the city of Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina. In September this year released their first EP named "Rosario is not what it used o be", with 3 studio songs and another 2 taken live from early shows. After playing the hell of Rosario independent scene and act on important festivals in the city and its area, the musicians began recording its first long play album. "Volume 1" was recorded in All Audio studios by the own band..s sound engeneer; Jorge "Negro" Ojeda , with the locutor Don Orlando de la Matta, collaboration of Jorge Risso at the stage of editing and mixing, and was mastered by Eduardo Bergallo in his studio. This LP was premiered on September 12 along with the music video for their track "Mareado" (First Argentina Music Video Festival finalist) directed by Federico Actis. By those years, some of the members of the original group was gone, giving entrance to many other accomplished musicians and broadening musicals horizons and bringing some new instruments to their sound,primarily acoustic. In 2005 the song "Mareado" was included in the swing compilation album "Roll of the Dice" sharing the list with bands from different countries. This expanded their popularity at the national level, boosted also by very good reviews of the original cd by some of the major magazines and newspapers in the country. In November the band participates in the IX Rosario Jazz Festival "Santiago Grande Castelli." 2007 is the year of launching its 2nd album named "Si Siempre Estoy Llegando" (If I am always arriving). It was recorded in March at Sound Rec studios by the Sound Engineer legend Amilcar Gilabert, featuring Matias Salina on bandoneon, Lukas Magliochetti in Tuba and Orlando de la Matta in the sweeper; with independent production and editing. In early 2008 the orchestra was summoned to join the cast of the play "Un guapo del 900" directed by Eva Halac and produced by the Institute of Culture of the Province of Buenos Aires. Now the band is presenting this new material in other cities in Argentina.
