About Me

Owen Summers is a saxophonist/pianist/composer from Wappingers Falls, NY, now living in Austin, TX. He has performed throughout the Hudson Valley and Metropolitan New York areas in jazz, blues, and rock groups with artists, including many gigs with master guitarist Steve Blum, as well as joining Mr. Blum and vocalist Jane Blackstone as part of Duo Motief Plus 1 at the Newburgh Jazz Festival. Also an accomplished pianist in both the classical and jazz spectrums, Owen has performed throughout the Hudson Valley as a soloist and accompanist, as well as being on the faculty of the Outer Banks Piano Camp. Owen has studied saxophone and jazz with Tim Price, as well as receiving on the job training from a variety of musicians, most notably, Steve Blum. He has studied classical piano with Gwen Stevens, chamber music with the Daedalus Quartet, and has performed in masterclasses with various artists. Owen currently performs throughout the Austin area in a variety of settings, but mostly with The Landfall Ensemble.
