About Me

Fisher King Press is a small, California-based, independent publisher.
We are currently seeking novels of literary fiction and work concerning the study of Jungian theory, dealing with depth psychology, myth, archetypal symbolism, and dreams.

We are also seeking to publish books with a focus on Spirituality & Religion. However, we avoid anything that is steeped in fundamentalism, regardless of the particular religion or spiritual practice.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Here’s to the independents, to those who thumb their noses to globalization and a homogenous society, to those who refuse to succumb to the brave new world!

Buying the work of an artist is a symbolic gesture that is priceless, be it a poem, a book, a photograph, a painting... The work of a gifted artist often shakes the foundations of society and opens people up to new or renewed lives. Writers slave for hundreds, if not thousands of hours to create a book. Their royalty is usually a mere 7.5% of the cover price, or about a buck a book. Artists make countless sacrifices to be true to their calling. Artists strive to make a living from what they create, and it is quite often other artists who wholeheartedly support their fellowship, as they understand how important it is to reward another for their extended labor, even if in the end, it only amounts to a few bucks.

Speaking of a few bucks, we urge you to support your local independent bookstores - they are servants to our communities. Think twice before trying to save an extra couple of bucks by ordering from a discounted on-line bookseller. Socially, as well as economically, independent bookstores are vital to our society. They provide not only a vast reading selection of books and periodicals, but just as importantly your local bookstore is a meeting place for your community. Better yet, try to imagine a world without a local bookstore. We think you’ll get the picture. It’s simply not so fun to be waiting around for the postman, or drinking coffee at home all by your lonesome!

Our goal is to recruit authors and to promote their work. If you have a manuscript, we'd like to hear from you. If you are a writer working on a book, we'd like to hear from you. If you are an agent representing authors, we'd like to hear from you. If you are a book reviewer, we'd like to hear from you. If you're looking for something new to read, we'd like to hear from you, too!

Many thanks to our authors, readers and to the many bookstores who buy and stock titles from Fisher King Press!
