..I'm a 41 year old empty nester who has always really dug music. After I got saved, I was really excited about the godly music that was available. God has brought me to some places to learn (home church activities, in-depth Bible studies, Jeremy Camp Ministries), and then opened yet another door. One day I realized that all the pieces were in place for me to start a godly streetteam service! I was working w/ an 'up front with Jesus' web guy, had written numerous Bible studies and hosted discussions on them, had the marketing and business management tools from college, on-the-job management experience, and saw a NEED for discipleship of fans. Voila, Beyond Streetteams was born.Our guiding verse is: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matt 6:33Watching J (Jeremy Camp) skyrocket in popularity and sales while still remaining that dork from next door holds the largest lesson I've learned. J never pursued his career, he just studied and was faithful with the small tasks the Lord gave him to do. Now that he's all 'superstar', he is still very faithful w/ the tasks the Lord gives him to do. J, his manager, nor the streetteam, had much to do w/ the success of Jeremy Camp the musician...it was all God. There is no earthly explanation for a guy who was just passing some time playing his guitar and singing in his college cafeteria one day....to be closing in on 1 million units sold only 2 years after signing. It's been one wild ride to be a part of. God is sooooo good! From that experience (which remains ongoing), I learned this: we can poster, we can e-mail, we can vote @ radio, but it really doesn't matter. If God wants your band to have national draw, He'll take care of it. He will send workers for all the tasks necessary. Those workers need to remember the job isn't promotion; the real job is making disciples. Seek ye first.... Beyond Streetteams is about finding that balance between business and ministry for each individual organization we work with.
