About Me

It seems to me (with everyone having about fifteen different online social network webpages, with dozens to hundreds of friends on each one, and so little free time on their hands) that I could probably write anything at all in this section, and it could be days or weeks before anyone even glances at it, let alone bothers to see and/or read the new words I've added to this section of my profile. Like, I could tell you the story about the time I went to Amsterdam, it was only in a dream, and it was within walking distance of a park I used to go sledding at in my childhood, but I'm never one to cloud any issue with reality, so I'll leave it at that.
I was recently looking at my junior year high school yearbook. One of the signatures in it said something along the lines of, "Dave, if you ever really try, give me a decent warning so I can go and hide."
I'd like to think that refrence was based on the fact that I would get mediocre grades in the math classes I shared with this person, but exceptional grades in the science classes I shared with him... often times, those science classes used the same geometry and algebra that was in the math class, but he inheritantly seemed to know the problem was my "effort" in science was just that much greater. Perhaps calculating arbitrary and abstract problems that had no visible meaning, or direct application other than "getting the abstract and arbitrary problem solved" was what turned me off of mathematics, but the "using it for understanding" and "seeing REAL formulas and equations" work in things like physics, chemistry, and astronomy... you know, things that are always happening everywhere, all the time... made... what was I jibberin about?
