The entity that we affectionately call "ParrotChild" began it's life in 2003. Sean Wales and Alex Taylor wrote a delightful rock-biopic-song called ToadBoy, in memorium of Jack Houghton. Even though Jack looked nothing like a toad.
The song became a smash-hit in the summer of that year, being played sporadically at the green field opposite the main school buildings.
Sadly, the good times didn't last. With all the new-found fame, the two members descended into a vain and arrogant headspace. Their next song, Jimmy The Tap-Dancing Cockroach failed to reach anyone in the same meaningful way that ToadBoy had.
The crowds fell away.
The band fell apart...
Often people would ask ParrotChild to reunite and play one last gig. But Sean and Alex had lost confidence in themselves, finding they were preferred as a novelty rather than as a serious band. And Sean and Alex shook hands and parted.
Alex left for London, and Sean stayed in Shropshire.
Years after the initial line-up, ParrotChild was resurrected as a solo project. With blessings from Sean, Alex continued his musical endevours to express his emotion, and to make it sound cool at the same time.
So far, he has failed.
ParrotChild isn't just one man, it's a story. A legend.
ParrotChild is something fondly remembered in the hearts of the older students, and the younger students.
Alex and Sean didn't just insult Jack when they sung ToadBoy, they united two seperate year groups into one harmonious beauty.
What does the future hold for ParrotChild?
Who knows...
One thing is certain though, he isn't dead yet.
ParrotChild.
