Politically, I'm a libertarian with republican tendencies when pushed. I'm more socially conservative on issues about crime and punishment than most libertarians. I also believe in stronger border security. In regards to foreign policy, I believe in a more isolationist foreign policy. I supported the Afghanistan campaign, but not Iraq. Economically, I'm about laissez faire as you can get. Business is overregulated and big business does not need or deserve the large subsidies that they get. As far as labor unions, I am not fond of them, but instead I support freedom of association.

Yes I am a metalhead through and through, but am not as close minded musically as some fellow headbangers. I love the blues. Anybody who can should check out Joe Bonamassa, good stuff. I love jazz. To me it represents complete musical freedom, but at the same time has rigid structures to it. Russell Malone is a genius! Classical amazes me also. I'm partial to Antonio Vivaldi's works. The melodies those baroque composers came up with never dullen or bore me. When I'm tired, classical actually wakes me up. I can't stand black metal, but love the gothenburg, sweden death metal. Unfortunately there is to much of that out and not enough thrash and progressive metal. For the record, Metallica sucks!

When it comes to hobbies, I've been surrounded by woodworking my whole life and had four years of metalshop in highschool so both these have stuck with me. In my woodworking quests, I mostly do scroll saw works. A lot of wildlife scroll work and some religious imagery. Lately, I have found a fascination with Shaker furniture, so Later I might attempt to build some of that. My metalworking quests are pretty much welding and sheetmetal fabrication. Although, I very much want to get into the machining/tool and die areas, the price of the machinery prevents me from doing so.

My Interests

I would've said sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll six years ago, but since sex is an overrated waste of time and drugs are a waste of a perfectly good life this no longer applies. Now, I find guitars more fascinating than women. That is not to say women aren't fascinating. Guitars just happen to respond to me when I speak to them. Maybe that is why I only have ten of them? Why spend money on drugs when it is much easier to by a new gitfiddle?

I'd like to meet:

Okay! I admit it. Women that pick six strings might be slightly more interesting then the guitar. Those chicks would be awesome to meet! Sharon Isbin and Mimi Fox. What these two women have done for classical guitar and jazz guitar is amazing. Muddy Waters so I can get some of his mojo. What guitar player doesn't want to meet Hendrix and SRV. Al DiMeola so I can get some of his speed and technical prowess. Randy Rhodes so I can acquire his beautiful melodic ballad soloing. Really, any musician, regardless of instrument or skill level, who plays from the heart.

Music:

This is the area that I don't know what I would do without. I and many, many others have been treated like absolute hell by others in the human race, but at the end of the day my guitar is always there. While a guitar is simply a piece of material used to make music, it knows when days are good and when days are bad. It will always understand. I may be a metalhead, but I get so much more enjoyment playing blues and jazz. Musically, I love the heaviness of metal, the melodicness (is that a word?) of classical, the simplicity (in theory that is) of blues, but at times I think jazz has all these elements. To me jazz is the epitome of true musical freedom.

Movies:

The Eric Clapton Crossroads Music Festival, Jimi at Woodstock, and Stevie Ray Vaughan at the El Macombo. Guitar training videos are also cool.

Television:

I don't waste my time with this social disease known as television. Well, unless it is a Kansas City Royals game, but that is usually pretty pitiful in the end.

Books:

The Ultimate Fake Book by Hal Leonard, Human Action by Ludwig von Mises, Man, Economy, and State by Murray Rothbard, and any guitar instructional books. Its amazing what the beginner books will teach you when your at the advanced level.

Heroes:

My parents rock even though at times they drive me crazy. My sisters. Any woman who can raise three kids on her own is absolutely amazing! Leo Fender, for perfecting the guitar into what it is today. Any musician who struggles because their music is not teeny bopper pop (read: crap) that the record companies market like it is the next best thing. It is my belief that God has truly blessed the people above. While, he has blessed me, I'm always open for more! =)
