About Teddy Geiger
Biography:
If you knock on the door on the house where Teddy Geiger grew up (please, don't actually knock in the door, we we're just saying this hypothetically), his mom would probably tell you to come on in! That's thts kind of open enviroment where Teddy taught himself to play guitar and piano and write songs in his basement, starting when he was only eight years old. With thick glasses and a bowl haircut, that outcast little kid from Rochester, New York hit the local coffee bar scene when he was still a freshman in high school - playing for just his family ans a handful of friends! Still, his fan base of "TedHeads" grew with his frequent local gigs and the release of his hit indie redional EP, Stepladder (Cred Records), which showed up in Billbord Magazine's top 10 mid-atlantic releases. Then Teddy caught up in the wild world of reality TV. No, he didn't eat bugs on "Fear Factor" fi try to "Date My Mom." He was a finalist on VH1's "In Search of the New Partridge Family," where he caught the ear of producer Billy Man ( Sting, Pink, Kelly Rowland, Backstreet Boys). Bill got an acute case fo Geigeritis and went to produce Underage Thinking, Teddy's debut album for Columbia Records. Okay, so Teddy is crazy talented and a prodigy musician/songwriter and actually a really sweet, genuine guy - now get this; he cares about other people. (He's played shows just to raise money to Tsunami Relief and The Red Cross' Gulf Relief Campaign.) But most fo all, he is all about his fans. ever day he is shocked by the support he gets from his music and on tour he makes a point of trying to hang out (auotgraphs of course, but...)and to just talk to his fans. Yeah, he's for real. He writes his own lyrics and arranges his own music. So now look at our boy: an AOL Breaker Artist and part of the new ClearChannel .. Emerging Artist Initiative. The opening act on this summer's "..! Stadium Tour" with Hilary Duff, Teddy has also rocked it out with Pete Yorn, Brandi Carlisle, Simple Plan, Fall Out Boy, Frankie J., Gavin DeGraw, Jesse McCartney, Kelly Rowland, and the Click 5, Aslyn, and Tyler Hilton. What other stuff do people want to know about Teddy? Yep, that is his real hair. Yes, Teddy's real name is John Theodore (but only his mom might call him that if she's really annoyed.) No, he is not dating Kristin from "Laguna Beach," but he had what he called on MTV "friendly fun" making the video with her. Yes, he'd love to play in everyone's living room and at prom, but he can't because of his crazy tour schedule.
More About Teddy:
John Theodore Geiger was born on September 16th 1988 to John and Lorilyn Geiger in Pittsford, NY. By the age of 6 Teddy was playing guitar and by the age of 8 he was writing and playing music on the piano. He began playing at local coffee shops for his friends only since he was a shy kid. Eventually he started playing in larger gigs in upstate NY. During the summer of 2004, Teddy auditioned for VH1's In Search of the New Partridge Family. He was auditioning for the role of Keith Partridge.Teddy made it to the finals but didn't win. Fortunatley, producer Billy Mann, who got Jessica & Ashlee Simpson, Sting and Pink to their superstardom today, saw Teddy and wanted to help him out. By February 2005, Teddy was in NY recording his first album. Teddy didnt want a recording contract, but his mother insisted, so he had to listen to her. In early 2005, Teddy released a six song EP entitled Step Ladder. On March 21st 2006, his debut album,Underage Thinking went on shelves. To promote his new album, he began touring with stars like Hilary Duff. In 2005, he also was on the show Love Monkey,. He played a struggling musician. He sung the shows theme song. As you can tell, since his auditions back in 2004, Teddy has skyrocketed to the top. With his gorgeous eyes and soothing voice, no wonder he has girls drooling over him. Teddy is currently on tour promoting his CD.

Every once in a while an authentic grassroots buzz is born at the fingertips of a vastly talented musician. Using nothing but an undeniable charm and an unstoppable musical mind, Teddy Geiger has captivated a frenzy of fans worthy of the most mainstream artists. One listen to Teddy's raspy voice and it's easy to see where this buzz comes from. At 16, Teddy writes songs that wear the weathered heart of an artist whose insights go far beyond his years. Teddy seasons his songs with the cutting edge of new school pop and the musical sophistication of a soul informed by rock's glory days. His voice is something he has made completely his own, reminiscent of the incomparable pipes of unique artists like John Mayer, Chris Martin and Dashboard Confessional, with a touch of Cat StevensWith looks like he was just peeled off the set of "The O.C.," his deep blue eyes, offset by a shag of black hair, will pull you in with as much force as his lyrics. Teddy writes of his friends: "We walked so slow / over ladders and through windows that let in the snow / that we have no reason to cut our time in half."Teddy, a songwriting prodigy, is a self-taught musician who wrote and arranged complete compositions on guitar and piano by age eight. Songs seem to pour from his head as instinctively as his grassroots fans (aka "Tedheads") pour into local venues to watch him perform. Using his music as his only marketing tool, Teddy has managed to generate a self-made fan base that attracts both weak-kneed teenage girls and rabid music fans hungry for meaningful rock and roll. After a gig packed with 500 plus at a Rochester concert spot, a fan wrote on one of the many Teddy Geiger internet message boards: "That was the highlight of my day, no my week, no my life. I'm almost jealous of myself that I got to see him in person." It was not a surprise that Teddy Geiger caught the attention of one of the music industry's most discerning ears for platinum sounds. After a national performance as of the Finalist on VH1's "In Search of the New Partridge Family," producer Billy Mann--the industry's go-to guy for artists like Sting, Pink, Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, and Kelly Rowland--became Teddy's champion. Bill was so passionate about Teddy's talent that he jumped on board to secure Underage Thinking, Teddy Geiger's debut album, for release on Columbia Records. Billy describes Teddy as, "A waterfall of talent who has natural blessings of - well - everything! He is an amazing and prolific songwriter with a signature-sounding voice and point of view at only 16 that any artist would kill for. I cannot wait to see how his career unfolds, and I know to bring the seatbelt!"In a case of life imitating art, Teddy has been cast in a recurring role as a rising young pop star in "Love Monkey," an upcoming CBS television series, based on the novel by Kyle Smith. "Love Monkey"--also starring Tom Cavanaugh, Jason Priestly, Larenz Tate, and Judy Greer--chronicles the dramatic and comedic misadventures of a 30-something record executive.Teddy's humble presence shines both on and off the stage. His incredible gifts exist in harmony with his genuine personality and photogenic good looks. In a recent Rochester Battle of the Bands, Teddy emerged as the $1000 grand prize winner and donated his winnings to Tsunami relief. It's Teddy Geiger's undeniable talent, coupled with a lovable charisma, that's propelling him to the forefront of today's musical scene as a highly-anticipated breakthrough career artists. Keep your ears and eyes open for Teddy Geiger.
Teddy's Causes
Teddy has been active with many charities – donating concert proceeds, visiting hospitals and helping to raise general awareness for various different causes. Teddy has been personally touched by many wonderful charities, and has had the chance to work with many organizations. Below are some of the causes Teddy holds close to his heart.
The American Red Cross Tsunami Program:
Through a coordinated effort, Red Cross and Red Crescent societies from some 40 countries around the globe offered resources and expertise in various specialized areas. The Federation matched the core expertise of these societies with the needs of the survivors to get help to those made vulnerable by this disaster. The American Red Cross was called upon to deploy experts in water and sanitation, logistics and rapid relief distribution. In addition to deploying personnel, the American Red Cross immediately began sending emergency relief supplies. Teddy played a benefit concert in his hometown, in which ticket proceeds, and raffle and auction items went to aid in the relief.
Habitat For Humanity – New Orleans:
Our goal is to build houses in partnership with sponsors, volunteers, communities, and homeowner families, whereby families are empowered to transform their own lives. To eliminate poverty housing in the New Orleans area while serving as a catalyst to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Founded in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller, Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide and to making adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people from all faiths and walks of life to work together in partnership, building houses with families in need . New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity founded in 1983, is part of a growing Habitat family. NOAHH's work over the years has resulted in over one hundred homes constructed in the New Orleans Metro area. NOAHH's work will be be critical in the wake of hurricane Katrina's destruction. Teddy personally climbed on a roof to nail in panels, and helped build a house in New Orleans before playing a sold out show at the House Of Blues that night.
Families Of Spinal Muscular Atrophy:
Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy is dedicated to eradicating spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) by promoting and supporting research, helping families cope with SMA through informational programs and support educating the public and professional community about SMA. Families of SMA is leading the way with the largest clinical trial network specifically for SMA, two drug discovery programs, and a continued emphasis on the science that helps us better understand the disease and find avenues for a treatment or cure. Families of SMA has funded more than $25 million in research and support and plans to fund an additional $6 million in 2007. Teddy played a benefit concert in Buffalo, NY to a sold out crowd, raising money for the charity through auction and raffle items. Teddy’s amazing three year-old cousin Alexander is his inspiration for helping this charity succeed.
Autism Speaks: At Autism Speaks, our goal is to change the future for all who struggle with autism spectrum disorders. One in 166 children will be born with autism. Unfortunately, the way this disorder is spreading, if you don't know someone with autism, you will soon.
We are dedicated to funding global biomedical research into the causes, prevention, treatments, and cure for autism; to raising public awareness about autism and its effects on individuals, families, and society; and to bringing hope to all who deal with the hardships of this disorder. We are committed to raising the funds necessary to support these goals.
Autism Speaks aims to bring the autism community together as one strong voice to urge the government and private sector to listen to our concerns and take action to address this urgent global health crisis. It is our firm belief that, working together, we will find the missing pieces of the puzzle. Teddy also supports the world renown McCarton Center, which is one of the nation's leading schools for children with developmental disorders.
Cure Autism Now:
Cure Autism Now (CAN) is an organization of parents, clinicians and leading scientists committed to accelerating the pace of biomedical research in autism through raising money for research projects, education and outreach. Founded by parents of children with autism in 1995, the organization has grown from a kitchen-table effort to the largest provider of support for autism research and resources in the country. The organization's primary focus is to fund essential research through a variety of programs designed to encourage innovative approaches toward identifying the causes, prevention, treatment and a cure for autism and related disorders.
Golisano Children’s Hospital At Strong:

Every night, playing shows, are the most exhilarating moments. The most embarrassing…I started playing a song and I left a pick in the strings of my guitar and it didn't sound too good.
…I didn't give up because, I never really thought of it as an option. Once I decided that's what I wanted to do, there wasn't anything else I was interested in.
I really have no idea – that (phrase) probably describes myself and my music.
