The UnMutuals officially started out of the ashes of drunkabilly as the Christ Punchers in St. Louis Mo. Guitar player Ray Johnson moved to Seattle and was replaced by Mark Reynolds and the UnMutuals were official as of Sep. 2002.
2003 was a good year as the UnMutuals played several shows around St. Louis including an opening slot for Bad Religion.
In January 2004 the first demos were recorded by Jason Hilliard in flourissant, Mo. The first release was "Throwing away today" on the midwestern compilation "It Came From Uranus" on Provel records.
Later that year the album "Rocket Bomb" was finished in Cleveland, OH. recorded and mixed by Rob Stevens of "100,00 Leagues under my Nutsack" and Frank Cavanaugh of "Filter". The album was released in July.
The next year the UnMutuals played an average of 3 shows/month opening for acts such as the Vibrators, DOA, the Effigies, Slim Jim Phantom, and others.
In 2005, the UnMutuals recorded their second album, "Tulsa Pass" in Tulsa, OK. Recorded, mixed and mastered at Armstrong studios by Stephen Egerton (Descendents/All).
TheUnMutuals called it quits after a brief midwestern tour with the Dead Kennedys. Three years later with Jimmy Griffin replacing Mark, the UnMutuals are back in action and better than ever.
