DE HOOCH - THE STORY SO FAR.........
Growing up on a diet of funk, hip hop and house, de hooch was always gonna be serious about music and started building her record collection at an early age. After going to the legendary VAGUE at just 15yrs old she knew she wanted to become a DJ and spin the dex at The Warehouse in Leeds.Her upfront ' lets get the party started' attitude secured her the dream gig at SPEEDQUEEN @ The Warehouse and has now blown away crowds worldwide.
Eight years on de hooch's rock solid mixing speaks for itself, this queen of all things funky has an amazing ability to layer tunes just at the right point and bangs them into the mix with incredible ease!!
Her unique mixing talent won her the prestigious title ' DJ OF THE YEAR' at the Leeds Bar and Club awards, beating off stiff competition from a number of well acclaimed DJ'S such as Rob Tissersa and is the only female in the industry to have won this accolade.
Her ever increasing profile has taken her to launch The Ministry of Sound's Summer Sensation night in Egypt as well as guesting at their Funky House Sessions night.

Funky, chunky house is her niche and she commands the best from her fave labels and producers such as Sander K, Axwell, Junior Jack, Dirty South, Roger S and more recently Bass Kleph.
" I've got alot of respect for producers, their the ones who give DJ'S like me the tools to work with, without them my job would be impossible"de hooch is quite philosophical about her music, " I play really driving, funky house, Its not fluffy or floral, I hate that stuff. My music reflects my attitude to life, dont stand for any nonsense, be confident in all you do and most importantly have fun !! "When de hooch is not creating mayhem on the dancefloor she is producing music for club theatre and fashion shows, bringing her own interpretation of fashion through music. She has worked alongside Tony and Guy, L'oreal and The University of Huddersfield Graduate fashion show to create innovative musical backdrops for the catwalk.
This year de hooch is starting remixing and producing and has plans in place to develop her own radio show.
2008 is gonna be one hell of a year !
