About Me

Man, woman or beast - I am what you perceive me to be, although I'm more bitch than beast. What you see aint necessarily what you get. I learned many years ago that there is a wide spectrum of genders and sexual identities and whilst I mainly identify with a female world, I may not always manifest that image. But enough of gender politics - like Liza sang, Life is a cabaret old chum, so come to the cabaret......A quick bio - born and bred in the bush, NSW, Australia. Moved to Sydney when I was an impressionable teenager and soon ensconced myself in Paddington surrounded by queers and queens, freaks and fags, punks and goths, down'n'outs and up'n'comings. I LOVED it. My life was Sex And The City in drag, Bondi Beach bonking and disco dancing till dawn. But amid the mayhem and the men, I developed a deep and unique spirituality. And whilst I embrace my earthly life with joy, I also honour my soul and the Universe. OM!Now, I'm living in the centre of the known universe, London! I may no longer be the wild child who ran amok around the back streets of Darlinghurst and Kings Cross, but there's life in the old girl yet! ..

Red

This poem was inspired by one of those silly online quizzes to determine the colour of your aura. It's no surprise to me that it showed my aura to be red. The quiz questions were aimed at determining ...

Graffiti

I recently posted some pix of graffiti that was daubed on the walls and fences of  inner city Sydney during the 1980s. It got me thinking that you rarely see any interesting graffiti these days; it se...

Life's For Sharing

There I was, making my way to the station (Liverpool Street Station, London) after another day at the office, ready to catch the 1548 Chingford train. As I approached the station I could hear loud mus...

A Winters Tale - Part III

London weather update a very chilly and foggy evening. I love how the harsh lines of the world are softened by the misty haze. The New Year  hasn't just arrived, it's passing by at warp speed....

A Winters Tale - Part II

London weather update: still freezing! Woke up this morning to a light coating of snow, just enough to fuse into icy patches that made walking a risky business. So there I was in my previous blog mus...

A Winters Tale - Part I

It's an almost-freezing cold day in London Town as I write; I say almost-freezing because  it's only 4°C. I have just ventured outdoors to dump some scraps in my compost bin and had planned on ch...

Jetlag, insomnia, migraines and neck ache

I must be getting old. My body doesn't seem to be able to handle the rigours I once put it through. Ever since I returned from Seattle I've had jetlag, insomnia, neck pain and a migraine. This is not ...

Another Summers Day

This weather thing is really weird. Yesterday was a groovy hot summer's day, OK? This morning I woke up, opened the blinds to see mist everywhere, a lovely ghostly veil softening everything in si...
