How’s It goin? My name Is Pussy Shoogah and I’m an Electra (meaning not entirely electro) Disco whore... na’ not really. Its more like- ah never mind...Electra Disco will do. I have recently finished a 10 month residency at the Court Hotel in Northbridge, Perth WA. I also have a ongoing commitment to the Infamous Settlers Tavern Margaret River. Settlers Tavern has come a long way in the past couple of years, recently winning best live music venue in Western Australia or is that Australia...either way, Not bad for a country pub ay! I consider myself incredibly lucky to have been a part of the evolution that saw the run down and disrespected venue become one of the most sort after venues, within the Australian music industry. Just changing the subject..Seven years its been, since I had my first set of decks. I started mixing it up in the southern coastal towns of Dunsborough, Yallingup and Margaret River. Next I moved on to Perth with no aclaim in 4 years, until I moved back to margaret river with my Bank job. It pays the bills. In the year I spent there Settlers gave me several opportunities to get some serious public attention which was just what the doctor prescribed. I was able to build my profile considerably, although I was really building on the foundation I left originally 4 years earlier. In my time I have played in various clubs locally in Perth City (WA) such as Metros, Connections and luxe bar Internationally, I have played at Double Six , Spy Bar, Fuel Bar, Bali GLobe Hotel, Shooters Bar, Kudos and Liquid (Bali). 2007 saw me play at the South Bound Festival too, for Sunset Events, which totally rocked and playing at the 2008 South Bound was even better In a time when so many people are taking up Djing recreationally and proffesionally I really feel that new grounds need to be explored. I really like to perform, as you’ve probably noticed, and take great Pride in my "Flamboyant" and sometimes outrageously themed costumes and Dance shows. I like to try and get a reaction from people. I would say that 99.99% of the time I definatley get a reaction. Even if its a bad reation I don’t care becuase that person won’t forget who I am. I’ll forget them instead. word of mouth is one of the best ways to get known quickly. Thats pretty much how I have built my reputation (bitching and back stabbing works a treat,just kidding)Inspiration comes in many shapes and forms and I suppose I like to be the inspiration for my audiences. I love the look on peoples faces when I parade out ,with my white headphones on, to the centre podium and bust out the moves like Im on drugs. *Shock Horror* " what is he Doing, he’s a DJ and he can dance too???? Who wants to see some moron just stand there behind the decks ooozing negative attitude anyway?(this isn’t directed at anyone in particular guys, its just a question of comparability) Not me! I have as much fun as I can and I involve crowd as much as possible.Also Check out my other venture. I am working with my best friend on a show called Cherry Bomb! she’s ChiKi and Im Pussy ie ChiKiPussy’s Cherry Bomb! ..Keep your eyes peeled.. Its a collaboration of original Vj and a Dj set incorporation live dance elements and digital interaction. Its Hot!! and very sweet...Let me tell you!!!
