Some have said that music is hard coded into the DNA of the Morris family, most of them either have the talent to for singing or the ability to comprehend, appreciate and even play some form of music. This should not have been a surprise when Jason started playing the piano around age 4. At age 6 he started the clarinet and by age 8 he then moved on to the Alto saxophone and became a member in the Christ Church Boys School Band. Under the tutelage of Mr. Anthony Nurse, Jason forged his musical foundation, quickly becoming recognized by the school for his musical prowess and aptitude. He was eventually awarded their 1996 Music Achievement Award in recognition of his musical contributions.
He continued with the Alto Saxophone in the Queen's College Secondary School Orchestra under the directorship of Anderson Griffith. Here, in addition to improving his playing ability, Jason successfully completed examinations in practical and theory of music through The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
Additionally, During his formative years at Queen's College, Jason's musical appetite expanded to other mediums, influences and styles becoming one of the inaugural members of the Queen's College ‘Tuk Band’ and the Queen's College Steel Pan Orchestra as a Bass Drum Percussionist and a leading tenor/lead pannist respectively.
You can find Jason gigging with local artists, bands and groups across the island, or you where ever there is quality music, local artist and a bus route.
