Johanna

The story of Johanna is about going after your dreams and not giving up, no matter what. She has overcome an obstacle after an obstacle in order to get closer to her dream in becoming an internationally known artist and she’s her today with her brand new album, stronger then ever! She sets an example to all of us-EVERYTHING is possible in this life if you just believe it!Her story begins in her home country Finland where she has already enjoyed chart-topping success, released several albums and participated on national Finland finals for the Eurovision song contest. Now she’s ready to launch the next phase of her music career with an amazing new album produced by Brad Grobler (Dance Nation) and Gino Sardjoie (MaxxDaWaxx).Dance&Pop producer Mark Otten (Armin van Buren, Tiesto): “Johanna has an excellent all-round voice which I enjoy listening to very much. In the past she showed herself to be a big talent; I am sure she will prove it again.”Johanna has always loved music. As a child she was taking piano lessons and sang in a choir. At the age of 18 she was offered a recording deal. Her first single went straight to 1 on Finnish charts, announcing the arrival of a brand new star! She released under her album deal 4 records, in 1995, 1996, 1998, 2001. One of these albums, “Tahdon” went on to hit the platinum status. Johanna loves performing live and up to this date, she has performed live over 500 times!The dream of making music in English was very strong inside of Johanna and her first English language album was introduced at the music industry tradeshow in Cannes. This album contained the prominent track “Messages of Love” which was produced by Viktor Drobych, with lyrics by Mary Susan Applegate (who penned the words of Celine Dion’s super-hit “Power of Love”). In addition to this Johanna also worked with a Swedish Thomas G:sson on the song “Who cares about the broken heart”, which Johanna performed at the Finnish national finals for the 2002 Eurovision song contest. A Japanese label fell in love with the track and immediately licensed it; the track eventually hit the Japanese record stores on the compilation “Swedish style”. The first steps on her way to become an international star were taken…Johanna has also become a tv personality in her home country. In 2005 she hosted the popular Finish entertainment shows Voittoputki (MTV 3 Finland) and Soittomania (SubTV Finland).Nowadays Johanna resides in Netherlands where she has taken her next steps in order to become an internationally recognized artist.
