I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I write, act, teach and have three children who live far away.A dozen or so of my books are so old, they're probably out of print by now. I'm working on a time travel fiction right now, in addition to some city profile books.Look up Pita Productions. That's where I'm acting presently and, yes Abby, we all miss you very much. That's my daughter who worked with us until she moved to New York. I also do little films here and there.I retired (the second time) from teaching research and essay writing at Phoenix College, both online and face to face this term, only to start working with a private student only six weeks later. I just can't seem to get away from teaching.I live in Arizona; all three of my children (see Aaron, you're included!) live in New York. So much for Mom-let's -run-away-to-dinner-and-a-movie.

My Interests

theater, film, books, art, swing dancing, museums, exhibits, music, coffee houses like the one in "Friends." I miss "The Muddy Cup" back on Staten Island; it was that kind of coffee house.

I'd like to meet:

People who enjoy what I do. I like my life, but there's always room for new friends. I think I'd like to have more writers, actors and fellow semi-retirees in my life.

Music:

Little Women - A Capella Victorian Women's Group out here. Abby sang with them for a few years when she lived here.Whatever Nima sings, but blues the best.Knee Deep Experience - that's a funk band out here. The leader (Hi, Ed) married into the family once we got to know them. Talk about good music!!!!Whatever Ed's wife, Michelle, who is Nima & Abby's second cousin (confused yet?)sings.Music is part of the family, so I'm pretty open to any kind but I've just discovered Alex Holland's saxophone and, of course, Robert Arthur's "There's a Rider Coming for Me."

Movies:

The epitome of what I like is "The Illusionist." It's Victorian, requires quite a bit of thought, and has surprises within surprises.

Television:

"Monk." Before that,I was addicted to "Rescue Me" and was helped through my withdrawal when they left the air by Logan lending me seasons one and season two. Thanks, Logan.

Books:

I'm probably prejudiced, but I like what I write. I also like Anne Perry, Will Thomas, J.A. Jance, Betty Webb, Victoria Thompson and Jon Talton. See the pattern? It's Victorian murder mystery or murder mysteries that take place in Arizona.

Heroes:

My daughters, for reasons only they will understand. Life was not always the best for them, but they prevailed and succeeded. They are both strong, intelligent, brave women.
