M-N-M was founded in 1996 and has been running for more than 10 years now, providing Dance, Drama, Stage craft, Piano, Music Theory, Choral and Voice lessons for free or for a minimal charge. In NYC we have been on tours to nursing homes, Gospel Street fairs and have been featured on cable access TV, The Baxter's show, and teamed up with local churches and the Harlem Youth Marines to do live coummunity performances to raise money for various causes.
Rebecca Torres is the founder and director. She has studied with renowned dance choreographers, and has led a successful music competition run as a pianist. She has taught music classes for the NYC D.O.E. to special needs students empowering them to dance, sing, and play percussive instruments in ways that superexceed all expectations.
The team and this fearless leader continue their efforts in bringing the arts to the Rockaways and neighboring sections to give a chance to talented youth who would not otherwise be able to afford lessons.
Rebecca has also performed with The Little Globe Teater in roles such as Gypsy, Anastasia, and Anne Sullivan.
Her passion for the performing arts runs deep and her heart for the youth keeps her and this group going.
She has now moved to Florida for a season where she has been blessed with the wonderful opportunity to create a praise team that will be expanding not only her talents but a movement to bring about collaborations to introduce this art form variety to the community in which she now resides. We miss her terribly here but are excited to see God's continued blessing on this powerful vessel. Proof that with God by your side you can make being a single mom of 2 and a servant of God look easy!
