I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

They say you can tell a man by the company he keeps. I hope that holds true because I have the most amazing friends ever and they've made all the difference in the world. I've had the opportunity to meet some of the most incredible people and experience some of the most amazing things in just 23 years and I am so thankful for that. I love learning something new every day and growing as a person. I haven't figured the whole world out just yet, but it's only a matter of time...
Let me just take this moment to express myself in my own terms. Last year was the most incredible year of my life. I wouldn't re-do a single thing that took place...it seems like everything that happened ultimately had a positive effect on me and made me a better and stronger person than I could have ever hoped to be.
"It’s only after we’ve lost everything that we’re ever really free to do anything."
"Sometimes you have to go halfway around the world in order to come full circle."

I find that anyone who can't conceptualize who I am and what I represent must have the wrong idea about more than just a few things in life. I'm as straightforward, honest, and considerate as they come. I treat everyone with respect and I don't judge anyone. I take great pride in my ability to talk to, work with, and relate to all types of people. I don't treat all people the same, because they're not. Each person is different, and assuming you try not to generalize or stereotype in regards to a certain race, religion, ethnicity, etc., you should treat each person as an individual and respect them in their own right. I learned a long, long time ago not to worry about people's perceptions and misconceptions about me. Every so often I'll meet someone (usually a guy) that for whatever reason, perceives me as a threat. I certainly find this to be a comical and particularly interesting experience, mostly because that person will virtually beg me to be a jerk to him and I won't. It's just really not within me to treat someone like crap, regardless of how they treat me. The best thing you can do in that situation is to just be yourself and make them wonder why you're still smiling. People who know me well understand who I am and in turn can see that I surround myself with good people. My closest friends are perfect examples of that...they have always been there for me and I truly appreciate them. More than anything, this past year has taught me to truly be comfortable with who I am. For that I am eternally grateful.
