About Me

Children of the Coin was founded in 2006 by Maggie Guillen and Selene Santiago as a way to experience the art of giving and compassion with their daughters, Paloma and Maya.
Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, a 60-year Halloween tradition beloved by generations, is one of America's longest-running volunteer activities. This is COTC's 3rd year collecting coins for UNICEF online and we hope you'll trick-or-treat with us.
It takes seconds to make a donation, and you can give any amount, a little or a lot (seriously, even the change in your pocket can make a huge difference). Since it's so easy to make an impact, we hope you'll support us in this important cause.
Here are some examples of how a little can go a long way:
* 7¢ can buy crayons for an entire class
* $1 protects a child from measles for life. Measles is lethally infectious. It is still responsible for 750,000 child deaths annually.
* $3 can provide one child with basic school supplies such as pencils, books, chalk, slate board and paper.
* $12 can buy 20 packets of high-protein biscuits to feed malnourished children.
Thanks ever so much!
-Paloma E and Maya S
* * PLEASE HELP US REACH OUR GOAL by OCTOBER 31, 2008 and DONATE NOW AND/OR JOIN OUR TEAM! * *

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People who want to help kids in other parts of the world get the things they need to survive and grow.

You've got the power to do it!

This October, make Halloween count by Trick-or-Treating for UNICEF. You can help us get water, education and medicine to the children who need it most.
