I am here for Friends

About Me

Well, for starters, I hate trying to describe myself. That said, I am a software developer with a wonderful wife and two children that are, quite frankly, much cuter than any other children on the planet. I telecommute from an office in my basement, which allows me to listen to bad music as loudly as I want and visit my wife and son whenever I feel like taking a break during work.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Dave Barry, Al Yankovic, Kent Hrbek, Ryne Sandberg, any US President or member of Congress (just to engage in some candid political discussion, which I think would be pretty interesting)

My Blog

Your MySpace page sucks

Hey, you!  Yeah, you!  You know that MySpace page of yours?  Well, it sucks!  I hate it, and it's only because you're my internet friend that I ever go to it at all!  Here's w...

Heresy

I don't believe God is omniscient or omnipotent. That looks kind of odd in print, like I'm trying to be some kind of "Ooh, look at me, my beliefs are controversial!" person, but honestly, it's kind of ...

I am a slacker

So, I've gone the last month and a half without posting any new blog entries, despite Noblesse Oblige's pleadings to write more and Shanna leaving comments that made me laugh.  On that note, I'm ...

Things I miss: Jam Sessions

This past weekend, I made a day trip to Rochester by myself, which meant a few hours of singing along with the radio in the car.  It reminded me of something that I've greatly missed since I left...

Internet Friends

I never really intended to have internet friends.  I generally figured that concept was reserved for World of Warcraft addicts and FBI agents pretending to be 13-year-old girls and the type of mo...

I need an explanation

South Dakotans had a tremendous number of issues to vote on Tuesday.  Our legislative system has processes in place for the people to initiate laws and call for a referendum on virtually any law ...

Down with the sickness

My wife and I woke up today with a slightly milder version of whatever stomach ailment my son had.  I have been well enough to take care of him, and I'll still be able to go vote, but I won't be ...

Things I think are dumb: Podcasts

Of all the phenomena on the internet that have passed me by, none holds my almost complete disinterest like podcasting.  There are certain situations where I kinda like the idea - McGuinn's Folk ...

Jarid: By Request

At the request of The Ubiquitous Other (actual quote: "You should write some stuff on here"), I'm going to attempt to write a blog.  I suppose I would like to try and do this daily, since it's al...
