People don't take me too seriously because I ponder stuff like:Do people in Australia call the rest of the world "up over"?
Does that screwdriver belong to Philip?
Does killing time damage eternity?
Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard?
Why is it called lipstick if you can still move your lips?
Why is it that night falls but day breaks?
Why is the third hand on the watch called a second hand?
Why is it that when you're driving and looking for an
address, you turn down the volume on the radio?
Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor, and
dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?
Are part-time bandleaders semi-conductors?
Can you buy an entire chess set in a pawn shop?More about me...
I love the fullness of life as I enjoy the simple things of life:
-the peacefulness of a lake early in the morning with the mist rising off the water and an occasional fish jumping (letting me know there is hope of catching one),
-new experiences with my wife Lois, and sons Adam and Dave, whether fishing/skiing/wakeboarding a new lake, hiking a new trail (invariably up and up to some great vantage point overlooking another beautiful example of God's handiwork) or anything else similar in the future that I can't mention (because it will be new),
-the natural expression of real faith, joy, love and maturity in Adam and Dave and it's significance on multiple levels,
-with my wife Lois, sharing the deep significance and reality of God with children and youth (and their parents) and watching them experience God in their everyday lives,
-examining data using the basic molecules of life to understand more about the complexities of cancer (and treatments for cancer).Matthew 18:2, 4 He called a little child and had him stand among them. And he said: "...Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.Hebrews 10: 23-24 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
In respect to understanding God, here is an interesting quote from Oswald Chambers: "The only possibility of understanding the teaching of Jesus is by the light of the Spirit of God on the inside. If we have never had the experience of taking our commonplace religious shoes off our commonplace religious feet, and getting rid of all the undue familiarity with which we approach God, it is questionable whether we have ever stood in His presence."
