Started singing Reggae on sound systems. Did some dub plates for London's Java sound. At 14 got the chance to sing with adults and tour with a band doing American air base's singing R&B covers
Then i went on to work with a soca band for a year. From then i met a pop producer and worked with a group called "Worlds Apart", co-writting and doing backing vocals getting me more into music business.
About 17 now. I wanted to party and still had no real job. I had got into a house and garage club on a friends birthday, she asked me to grab the mike from the Dj and sing for her. I did and a couple more songs. The promoter asked me to come back and sing random songs every week for $100, free drinks and my girls in free. Great stuff. Other promoters saw me and i got jobs filling the hole weekend Playing with people like Timmy Magic and spoony.
Then i Auditioned for a ska band called Moron Town. I got in. We were hired mostly by the british council and traveled around some of the third world. During that time i got signed on a development deal by M.C.A music.
I had still been singing in various raves and done a couple of tunes that are now under ground classics such as "I wanna know" by restless natives and "It's my house" with 500 records.
Basement Jaxx were looking for a singer on the under ground and my A&R Thad Baron spoke to my manager Michael Hamelton. They put me forward and i went and did the session for the Jaxx. Couple months later it was a hit. "Red Alert" . I toured with the Jaxx for around two years, europe, Japan and Australia. Big shit now. Since then i got married and have had my son. He's three.
I now live in Tampa, U.S.A and sing with a couple of local Reggie bands. The REAL "Jahfari" and a group called "Positivity" that i play with every wednesday and thursday in Eybor city Tampa, Florida. Hope i haven't missed anything and it all makes sense. Have a great year
