Ape Ray

Ape Ray started in Hong Kong in 2006 as a side project of Danny Quinn and Indy Shome of psychedelic band Queen Elephantine. Intending to make experimental dance/punk music, they independently released their first album and wrote songs together for student films. However, bass and guitar duties in Queen Elephantine would consume most of their remaining time in Hong Kong.Currently split between New York and Ontario, Ape Ray reunited recently to record “Planet Of The Rape”, their second release. Falling somewhere between noise doom and stoner rock, the album is available for free download on the band’s Myspace. A supplementary collection of B-sides from the recording process are also available in the form of "Anal Moon". Plans for future recordings and shows are in the works.Ape Ray’s goal is to create music that they and hopefully others will enjoy, and to share and spread it to lovers of heavy music everywhere.
