We are a collective of up and coming tattoo artists. The tattoo industry is like the friggin' magic circle and has given us no help nor encouragement. Are they scared of the competition - is this why they make out all us home tattooists are scummy money-grabbing scratchers? If they were more receptive to newcomers we wouldn't have to work from home. After 15 years of searching for an apprenticeship I found one and was treated like shit for 8 months. This is a common experience of tattoo apprenticeships. I am fully aware you have to earn your stripes by doing menial tasks but these people have their heads so far up their own arses they don't want to teach anyone their trade, they just want to be hero worshipped. They all surround themselves with a gaggle of sycophants and start to believe their own hype. Conversely, they are insecure too - the artist I worked for loathed every other artist in the industry. We are different. We help each other, we encourage each other. Our equipment is the best money can buy, the most expensive being our autoclave and ultrasonic. We are meticulous about avoiding cross contamination and are cleaner than most high street studios. For now, we don't charge money for tattoos. In about a year we are going to open a studio. Currently we work from an undisclosed location in the Midlands.body {
