The Oldtimer

Hi Everyone! My name is Tasos Metaxas and I'm a graphic designer, working for a company from the Home Entertainment area, here in Athens, Greece. I began dealing with music and specifically guitar, many years ago, since high school. All these years many things affected me, many sounds run into my blood and music was always there to make every difficult moment happy! The section that I'm presenting here consists of short, melodic shots and ideas that were spinning around my head for many years, or came into life in "warm" periods like mosquitoes! The melodies and the expressions spring up like images, like colors and there are moments that, no matter what happens around you in your own close world, there is only one thing. The melody, the rhythm that generates and keeps growing. I know there are many people that will understand what exactly I am talking about. Every single one of these little soundscapes represents a certain psychological situation, sometimes good and sometimes bad, though enough to push tha hands to impress the meaning of the moment and express it. They are inspired by and based on old standards and patterns and they are simply performed in an effort to "imitate" the classic recordings that showed the way. And since it is not always easy to find people who want to play what you have in mind, there comes technology in the form of the computer-nothing fancy, very simple things- to help so that all those ideas can take shape. That's enough for now. There are still many ideas that are waiting their turn to be recorded so as to complete a collection of simple sounds that refer-right or wrong-to a sound from the past.
