About Me
Marieu was born in Padua in the years in which House music was borning in Chicago.
He got in contact with the classic House music and Disco in 1995, but he was already not satisfied with the Italian club scene.
This passion lead him to the acknowldegment of other musical genres from more sophisticated Electronic music to Pure Techno.
In 2004 he moved to Barcelona, where he begun to djing. In Barcelona he was able to listen to the listen to the masters of Techno music like Jeff Mills, Robert Hood, Underground Resistance, MoodyMan, Theo Parrish, Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Omar S. and Carl Craig. In Barcelona he also got in touch with Lucretio; they shared a great passion for True Techno and the love for Detroit music. Afters a couple of years of spinning and clubbing together, insatisfied by the quality of most of the records that were coming out, and upset by the digitalization of music and by the fake people in the music business, they decided to move to Berlin (the homebase of Techno in Europe) and to found a strictly undergound vinyl label: RESTORATION.
He begun to produce fat analogue music; his first tracks as Xenogears ("Oh Oh Oh" - "First Mission" were released in 2007 on Restoration debut ep. Greatly acclaimed by Detroit artists and by Berlin residents, it was followed by 2 other tracks as Xenogears (Don..t you know" - "B Acid" on the label..s second release.
His first solo appearance on his label came outh in the summer of 2008: "Hammer" on the "Resistance on my mind Ep". In this track Marieu shows the development of his own sound: warm and funky, solid and relentless. The track was acclaimed by True Techno djs around the globe.
In october 2008 all his House influences came up on his "Dark Theory" on the "Analogue Planet" Ep, this deep house cut was loved by Berlin djs.
Furthermore he continued releasing tracks as Xenogears on every EP on the label. In summer 2008 he started a new project with his mate Lucretio called "Analogue Cops" with a more deep house orientation than Xenogears. The Analogue Cops are the inspectors of the analogue sound, the defenders of vinyls, the worst enemies of digital download.
He has djed in several undergound parties in Barcelona, in Italy and in Berlin; he shared the booth with djs such as Alann Oldham, Tyree cooper, Elbee Bad, Onur Özer, Damian Schwartz and Guido Schneider.
