Gilead Limor

About Me

Gilead Limor is successfully established as a composer and performer of Electronic, Rock and New Age music. A professional musician, composer, producer and engineer since 1981, Gilead has composed and recorded a considerable body of musical work, and has seen six of his own albums on general release in North America since 1988 with sales in excess of 100,000 copies by 1991.
Originally trained on the piano, Gilead works mainly with keyboards and synthesisers, 6 and 12 string guitar and bass guitar.
Gilead's work with other musicians has included commissioned composition, song arrangements, production, recording, mixing and mastering. Focusing on pop, MOR, rock, folk and world music, Gilead attempts to preserve a natural feel to the music he works on, preferring an honest performance rather than a surgically precise one.
Gilead has now also moved into the more demanding area of classical and contemporary music, producing recordings for the Master of the Queen's Music, composer Sir Peter Maxwell Davies and other contemporary British composers. Descriptions and samples of some of the recordings for Sir Peter Maxwell Davies may normally be accessed via the following links:

The Andras Schiff Beethoven Sonatas Lecture Recital Series at Wigmore Hall
Gilead has produced and engineered this lecture recital series for Wigmore Hall. Andras Schiff presents each of Beethoven's 32 sonatas over 8 sessions, and shares his interpretation with the audience. The series is now available for download as podcasts from The Guardian Online.
The "You Are..." series and beyond. A qualified holistic therapist and healer since 1997, Gilead has combined his knowledge and experience in both fields to create some of the finest tranquil music for relaxation, meditation and guided imagery. Gilead has developed a large following of devoted fans in North America and other parts of the world.
Gilead was the initial composer/performer signed to the highly popular "You Are..." series of CDs released in North America by Nesak International Inc. Of the six original titles released between 1988-1991, four were re-issued in 1996, and two titles re-released in 2000 and are still on catalogue. Overall sales of the series exceeded 100,000 units by 1991, and the CDs have been selling steadily since.
Gilead has followed the success of this series with additional compositional works: Symphony for The Cosmos, Earthbound, Imaginary Landscapes, and most recently Ocean ... Timeless. Gilead also continues to compose music for healing and holistic therapies.
Plugged and unplugged: Since 1977, Gilead has also composed over 150 prog rock and melodic rock songs, many of which have been recorded over the past 25 years. He has also composed dozens of electronic music instrumentals and has recently been working on a series of ambient and chill music projects.
News of these recordings and how to purchase them will be posted here from time to time.
