Hello and thanks for visiting my page! My name is Shaunt Der-Grigorian. Starting from the age of 4, I was placed in piano lessons and continued learning the instrument until the age of 15. At that age, I began to study the classical guitar under Aydin Mailov, a classical guitarist of 30 years trained in the former Soviet Union. I attended the International School of Music for the first 5 years of my training, and later transfered to private lessons under the same instructor. Upon entering college, I chose classical guitar performance as my major.
Since then I have participated in numerous performances, festivals, and competitions. I perform professionally and take time to compose my own pieces for both guitar and orchestra (several of which will soon be added to my page). Currently I am a teacher at the World Music Academy of La Crescenta, CA. My first album will be released by Winter of 2007, containing many well known pieces such as La Catedral and Recuerdos de la Alhambra as well as several more uncommon compositions such as El Colibri and the Venezuelan Waltzes.
This album will be made available on my page once it is released. I hope my music brings you a sense of pleasure and enjoyment and look forward to seeing you at my next performance!
