I'm bored, entertain me

About Me

Working man with a checkered past(nothing criminal, but as an older guy now I can't believe I survived and was that stupid)Used to be a full time bass player in few cool local bands, the biggest thrill was showcasing at SXSW in Austin, Tex. Life is good, but a bit boring. Apparently I am now productive citizen of this planet

My Interests

surf, music, sports except soccer, auto racing except nascar, good food, good wine, cigars, esoteric subjects, non-generic, free thinking people. I also like things that scare me, except bible thumping Bush lovers they are way too scary. George W. not the other Bush, you should love that

I'd like to meet:

Non religious, free thinkers that don't preach. No pompous wannabe pseudo intellectuals. Life is good, if you don't take it to serious

Music:

fields of the nephilim, virgin black, dropkick murphys, joy division, pixies, tiamat, march violets, celtic frost, miles davis, the replacements, wire train,J & M Chain, husker du,orange juice, smithereens, sidewinders (most underrated band ever) Guadalcanal Diary, various CMJ types, old school hardcore (DI, Circle jerks, TSOL, Aggression, Broken Bones, GBH, etc.) various over the top metal bands death, black, goth )etc. you get the idea, anything but top 40 and mindless pop

Movies:

lately alot of j-horror, the original japanese "obake" (ghost)movies were way scarier but these aren't to bad. I was on a mission to collect controversial and banned films released onto DVD, I did locate quite a few. Any film that scares or really, truly disturbs me and that takes alot. Imagine being a kid and seeing The Exorcist for the first time alone at night, that kind of feeling

Television:

Family Guy, ghost hunters, various documentaries about various subjects, sports except soccer

Books:

it's been awhile but the last one I attempted was Ayn Rand's Atlas shrugged. Update, I've just completed Dan Brown's Angels and Demons. Pretty damn good book. I am now reading Patricia Cornwell's Jack the Ripper book

Heroes:

My late father, and all the people running Towards the twin towers not away from them during 9/11 (NYPD, FDNY)

My Blog

U2 in Hawaii

Was anyone else at the show ? Someone must have because there were 41,000 people there and most were not from Hawaii. I must admit I'm real fond of their music after The Unforgettable Fire, but damn I...

computers suck

Can someone please explain to me why 90 % of the music files always fail when you try to connect to them. I am not very computer savvy but these f***in things are really starting to piss me off.
