Unkept Records Band has existed in one form or another since the mid-90's. Spawned from the ministry of NewSong Church, San Dimas, California, Unkept produced its first official album release in 2002. This first album, entitled "Something You Can Use" contains 10 original songs composed for use in congregational worship settings.
The record company, founded by Eric Herron, has since produced three additional albums ("Supreme High God", "For Your Love", and "Gather Us Into One") and continues to forge ahead in creating modern music that contains ancient truth. The latest album, entitled "Gather Us Into One" contains the title song, which is based on early Christian liturgy by Hippolytus (c.300 C.E.). Many consider this song and others emerging from UR to be "modern hymns" for the Church.
Ultimately, the Unkept Records band wants to make music that points people to Jesus and does so in authentic and non-cheesy ways. Our hope is that through prompting worship song-writers to never sacrifice artistic advancment for financial gain, we will see a Renaissance or "new birth" of music for the global Church to use toward enjoyment and adoration of her Lord.
