I was born and raised in Lewisburg, Ohio. I am the youngest boy of 10 children. I have lived in KY, MI, and now I live in TN. There are a few certain stops along this journey that we call life that have defined me. The first stop was giving myself over to Christ. When I came to the realization that Jesus was undeniably God who had debased himself as man, well, redundantly, I could not deny. Simply, Jesus claimed to be God, so as C.S. Lewis would claim, he could only be a liar, a lunatic, or actually the Lord. What he couldn't be if he was not God is "a great prophet" or a "great man". Great prophets don't claim to be God, or they wouldn't be great... they would be liars. Enough with the homoletic apology, my second stop was my marriage to Sarah. Sarah filled a void that I cannot explain. She keeps me consistent. In the immortal words of Sylvester Stallone in Rocky, "She fills gaps. She's got gaps, I've got gaps, together we fill gaps." The third stop along this journey was the birth of my daughters Evelyn and Eliana, and the knowledge that my son Ethan is soon to be born. My kids have changed my life by adding responsibility and teaching me love. The fourth and crappiest pit stop along the way was the day I found out I have retinitis pigmentosa. Basically, I found out that one day I will go blind. Big deal, tons of people have health issues. The reason this pit stop affected me is it inspired me to go back to school; to pursue my dreams of teaching English as a foreign language, and to prepare myself and my family for the future. Interestingly, this has taken a twist and I have been transferred to Ft. Worth, Texas for my job.
My Interests
I'd like to meet:
Lazarus. I would say, "So, how was it being Dead and then Alive again? Where did you go?" Then something amazing would happen. I would stop asking questions and just listen... maybe.
