Hi I'm Becca, a singer-songwriter from the greater Sacramento area. I'm a folk-rock kinda gal.My earliest musical memories are of dancing and singing to Soul Train on TV and playing air guitar to the Beatles on the radio and then later to the Monkees on TV every week. I pestered my folks for a guitar but having 5 siblings, a guitar and lessons were a luxury they couldn’t afford. That didn’t deter my passion though and eventually I got a guitar and took lessons.1999 found me in Sacramento forming a blues band, Midnite Blue, where I sang lead and played rhythm guitar until we dissolved in 2001.Changing direction to concentrate on songwriting, I took up Jazz and continued to perform as a solo player at Luna’s Café, Aric’s Java Café, the Open Book, Faces Night Club in Sacramento, various Starbucks in the Roseville area, and at the Roma Café and Common Grounds in Davis. I also produced (along with my partner Ann Smith) a Women Songwriters’ Night for the Northern California Songwriters Association at Java Café, Fair Oaks in 2002.I am as passionate about singing as I am about my guitar and count many female musicians as mentors and idols, but Bonnie Raitt, Phoebe Snow, Melissa Etheridge and Lucinda Williams are all way up at the top of the list. I enjoy playing R & B, Motown, Blues, Oldies, Classic Rock and Old Standards.For one fantastic year (9/04 – 9/05) I played both rhythm & lead guitar for the “Wildflowers”, an all-female rock-dance band [www.patricamooremusic.com/wildflowersmusic/]. Lots of disco and funk really brought this band together and it was a wonderful experience for the year before we disbanded. The Wildflowers band only wetted my appetite to be in another ensemble.I have found that audiences look forward to hearing me sing and watching me play - there’s just something about a girl and her guitar. Women are finally getting their due and lettin’ it rip.I’ve been a member of the Delta Breeze Band since 8/07 [ Delta Breeze Band ]. This is a dream gig and quite a privilege - it’s an exciting ride for me.During the last few years, I stepped up my songwriting with my partner Ann. A beautiful love song “Something Right” came out of those songwriting sessions and it was a great privilege to sing it at our wedding in September of 08.Currently I’m in recording at Tree Fog Studio and getting more material completed with the help of Stan “Stainless” Brown producing and various Delta Breeze members.
