transforming my mind: "People can't see your mind, what people see is a manifestation of your attitude in your actions of body and speech. Pay attention to your attitude all the time, guard it as if you are the police, or like a maid cares for a child, like a bodyguard, or like you are the guru and your mind is your disciple." Lama Yeshe in all forms.
Tom Waits, Black Sabbath, The Clash, ani difranco, Gillian Welch, Misfits, Le Tigre, Luna Chicks, Dan Bern, Cat Power, PJ Harvey, Patti Smith, Dr. Hook, Kris Kristopherson, John Prine, Sublime, The Pogues; so many others but these are the heart jewels. I have also been known to clear out bars with John Cougar Mellencamp selections. You will have to rip the "Cougar" from my cold, dead hand. He'll never be John Mellencamp to me. Ain't Even Done With The Night is the most romantic song of young love ever! It's true, Seth.
I love old movies, foreign movies, documentaries; anthing that facilitates time/culture travel. I adore good stand up and comedy. Man Baby is My Delusion (directed by Ian V. Billet) is easily my favorite movie. Actually, any footage of myself is probably my favorite.
I learn more from commercials than anything else on TV but I love talk shows and reality shows. I find them hilarious. Mostly because I like laughing at people. But I like helping them just as much! YouTube makes it possible to time travel in small clips so I love that too.
Anything that inspires me to write my own stories. I'll check out anything on culinary history and I love old cookbooks especially the prefaces and introductions. But mostly when I take time to read these days I'm reading dharma books.
