Myspace CommentsSOMETHING THE LORD GAVE ME TO WRITE DOWN ON PAPER!So many of us today don't believe in the gifts of the spirit, we think that those gifts were given back then, not today. i was presented with the question by someone who was having troubles with their children and so i sat and wrote what the Lord gave me to write.
In Acts 2; verse 8 Where Peter was preaching he said: How is it that each one of us can hear his own language? Then in verse 12 -13 : They were all surprised and wondered about this. They said to each other, "What can this mean?". But others laughed and made fun, saying , "These men are full of new wine.
-It is hard for us to understand that today with all the technology and the way the world tells us to be how we convince ourselves that that was back then,,, but God said i am, i have always been and i will always be.. so how is it that we today don't think that the gifts of the spirit were given, to us, for God's us today? We are told as Peter stood up with the eleven missionaries and spoke, Acts 2 17-18 : God says, 'In the last days I will send My Spirit on All men. Then your sons and daughters will speak God's Word. Your young men will see what God has given them to see. Your old men will dream dreams. Yes, on those I won, men and women, I will send My Spirit in those days, They will speak God's Word.
Acts 5: 29 - 32 ; Then Peter and the missionaries said "We must obey God instead of men! The God of our early fathers raised up Jesus, the One you killed and nailed to a cross. God raised this Man to His own right side as a leader and as the One Who saves from the punishment of sin. He makes it possible for the Jews to be sorry for their sins, Then they can turn from them and be forgiven. We have seen these things and are telling about them. The Holy Spirit makes these things known also. God gives his Spirit to those who obey Him.
-God tells us over and over again about being baptized by the washing of the water but something our churches do not teach us about today is that Jesus, said himself, We are also to be baptized in the, (his) Holy Spirit.
Acts 11:15-17 : As I began to talk to them, the Holy Spirit came down on them just as He did on us at the beginning. Then I remembered the Lord has said, " John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit." If God gave to them the same gift He gave to us when we put our trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, how could I stand against God?"
In Acts !3:26, Paul is speaking to all of us,, as we are baptized and crucified in Jesus and there for as the Jews. He states: Men and brother, sons of the family of Abraham, and all of you who honor God, listen!
In verse 38-41 ; Men and brothers, listen to this. You may be forgiven of your sins by this One I am telling you about. Everyone who puts his trust in Christ will be made right with God. You will be made free from those things the Law of Moses could not make you free from. But look out! The writings of the early preaches tell of many things that you do not want to happen to you. Listen you who doubt and laugh at the truth will die. I will do a work during your days. It will be a work that you will not believe even if someone tells you about it, " [ Habakkuk 1:5).
Paul speaks over and over again about how the Holy Spirit gives gifts to each one of us and it only takes Belief and trust in our Lord, Jesus. Do we really think that the gifts of the Holy Spirit have changed? God tells us that over and over again,, and we are so arrogant in today's society to believe that that Holy Spirit doesn't' exist in works today? We believe that because it is today, the year 2007, that it just can't happen. The Holy Spirit is the trinity of our God our Lord and Jesus, God tells us to not forget about that ,, there are several times like when John gets baptized, God the Holy Spirit and Jesus all have a conversation. In Psalms Book one and Book two,, the Holy Trinity again is having a conversation: Book one verse 1-2:"Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mocker. But his delight is in the law of the Lord and on his law he meditates day and night. In Book two verses 1-9 : Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the Lord and against his Anointed One. Let us break their chains, " they say and throw off their fetters." The One enthroned in heaven laughs: the Lord scoffs at them Then he rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying I have installed my King on Zion, my holy hill." I will proclaim the decree of the Lord: He said to me, " You are my son, today I have become your Father. Ask of me and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession. You will rule them with an iron scepter you will dash then to pieces like pottery. Amazing how the Holy Trinity right there is actually having a conversation and if you notice where Jesus is speaking and that was a very long time before Jesus came to earth as a man in flesh. If we look in Deuteronomy God clearly tells us in Chapter 4:30 ; When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in that latter days, if thou turn to the Lord they God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice. What makes us think we don't hear God if we listen,, he tells us right there ...WE DO. Jesus told us over and over again that we will receive gifts of the Holy Spirit. If we obey and listen long enough we will hear. That is when the Lord gives us the gift of discernment. I see very clearly that the times are coming close and I know that God exists I know that Jesus exists and i Know the Holy Spirit exists. Jesus said in Matthew that we would receives the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is one with God, as Jesus is, as we to will become when we have been saved in the Spirit. Paul tells us in Acts 20: 22 : The Holy Spirit makes me go. I do not know what will happen to me there. But in every city I have been, the Holy Spirit tells me that trouble and chains will be waiting for me that. If our Lord gave the Holy spirit to Paul, what makes any one of us think that we are not the same. We are men just like Paul? In Acts Chapter 28 Paul tells us why and how he has come in verse 25-27, As they left, they did not agree with each other, Then Paul said, " The Holy Spirit spoke the truth to your early fathers through the early preacher Isaiah.
And finally we learn from what God's word says in telling us that the word is alive. We learn from his word and the filling of the Holy Spirit. In James Chapter 2:18-19 : Someone may say, " you have faith, and I do things. Prove to me you have faith when you are doing nothing. I will prove to you I have faith by doing things." You believe there is one God. That is good. But even the demons believe that and because they do, they shake. Then in verse 26 The body is dead when there is no Spirit in it. It is the same with faith. Faith is dead when nothing is done. In Hebrews Chapter 11:1-3 : Now faith is being sure we will get what we hope for. It is being sure of what we cannot see. God was pleased with the men who had faith who lived long ago. Through faith we understand that the world was made by the Word of God. Things we see were made from what could not be seen.
So, here we are today living in this modern world, where each of us will say that we believe in God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, but which one of us has the will to receive it the way our Lord wanted us to receive it. Which one of us today will stand up to our brother or our sister and Say To God be the glory.. every thing that we have on this earth including our tests, our sadness our weakness and our faith,, all be the glory to God our Father in Heaven.. and we as Christians, before denomination, have got to have the guts to stand up and say that if it was then ,, It is now. And will always be,, God our Father never changes. If we look at the first book of Corinthians in chapter 12. 1-14: Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. Ye know that ye were Gentiles carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestations of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit. To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit. To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues; But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. For as the body is one, and hath many member, and all the member of that one body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are We all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
So we must be taught. We have to have discernment in what we are taught by man. The Word of God tells us very clearly where to put our concerns on what we learn and how we interpret the Word of God and it comes from the Holy Spirit, from our baptism in the Holy Spirit. If we look in First John chapter 2 verses 27-28; But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you; but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things (the Holy Spirit) and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
The Lord will always give us what we ask for especially when our hearts are right , and if it is according to his will and purpose. I believe a lot of us ask for things from our Lord when it serves a self serving purpose, which we have all been guilty of.. but one thing is for sure.. i have learned when it comes to God's will and what his purpose and plan is, for each one of us, in our lives he will definitely give us what we asks for.. he tells us he will in Luke 6: 36-38 Give and it will be given to you. You will have more than enough. It can be pushed down and shaken together and it will still run over as it is given to you. The way you give to others is the way you will receive in return. Also again in Ephesians 2:20, " God is able to do much more than we ask or think through his power working in us. And finally as in Philippians Chapter 4: 7-9; The peace of God is much greater than the human mind can understand. This peace will keep your hearts and minds though Christ Jesus. Christian Brother, keep your minds thinking about whatever is true, whatever is respected, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever can be loved, and whatever is well thought of. If there is anything good ad worth giving thanks for, think about these things. Keep on doing all the things you learned and received and heard from me. Do the things you saw me do. Then the God who gives peace will be with you .
To God Be The Glory, Amen
