I'M A LOVER AND A FIGHTER:
* i've been in grad school for a few years studying traditional chinese medicine: acupuncture, moxabustion, cupping, gua sha, tui na. besides having to know the eastern medicine, we must also know the western, esp. biosciences. will hopefully graduate in 1-2 years. this stuff ain't no joke!
* i speak at various colleges & universities on issues pertaining to, but not limited to: asian & filipina identity, feminist, queer issues, and even give intros to self defense. i also perform spoken word and song (along the same lines). want to book me to come speak at and/or perform at your school? please email felicia at [email protected] !

* people ask me what i am all the time. i'm often mistaken for various races, and people speak to me in tongues i don't understand. to fess up, i'm filipina/spanish/irish/chinese/mexican. ya know, your all-american girl. and i own that shit.
* i write a zine about women of color stuff, especially from the mixed blood asian/filipina/asian point of view
* i'm classically trained in opera & ballet, but love belting out evil stig
* i know filipino weapon fighting, hence my toys
* i love all types of music, including punk, oi, heavy rock, rockabilly, and some hip hop & even some country (patsy cline & cash, man...) but pop is fun and mindnumbing. must admit britney's "toxic" is quite infectious
* i said before i only love dogs. that's not true. i also love cats. if they're black. with luscious fur. and meow sweetly.
GOINGS ON:
In April 2005, I curated an unprecedented exhibit entitled, "Pintadas: An Exhibit of Tattooed Asian Pacific Islander Women". The name “Pintados†comes from the name the Spanish gave the inhabitants of Panay Island of the Philippines because of their tattooed bodies, and the word pintadas marks the female aspect. It included a photography exhibit of tattooed API women from the West Coast to the East Coast, Canada, and in between, as well as a live tattoo storytelling.
The next issue of Bamboo Girl Zine, no.12 is dubbed the "Pintadas/Tattoo Issue", and is slated to be printed sometime in the near future, depending on my meager income! It also marks the 10th Anniversary of Bamboo Girl, the zine that confronts racism, sexism, & homophobia from the Filipina/API/Asian mutt feminist point of view!
