It is a common term for a mother to call her child, or a term of endearment, such as “dear†or “honeyâ€. We call our technique “Cariño†because it is with this type of care we hope to aid you in healing, maintaining wellness, and rejuvenating your whole being. The Cariño Massage is the most thorough and complete body massage style available. It combines deep, fluid, circular strokes using palms, fingers and knuckles, while using focused integrated breathing to connect the body, mind spirit and soul as one entity. Muscles are stimulated from multiple directions and angles and the therapist maintains contact with the body throughout the entire treatment period. In the years since first obtaining his certification, Johnny has learned a wide variety of massage and other therapeutic techniques including: Swedish, Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Sports, Reflexology, Thai, Pre/Post-Natal, Lomi Lomi, Reflexology and Integrated Breathing. As a result of practicing such a variety of massages for nearly 20 years, has developed his own technique that is tailored to each client’s needs and preferences. He has named his unique style of massage as the “Cariño Massage.â€~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~ Johnny has assisted chiropractors, physical therapists, worked in geriatric therapy, as well as high end spas throughout Beverly Hills and West Hollywood where he practiced, refined and mastered his art of healing. He cultivated his style with private high-profile clients in San Francisco, Sacramento, and Los Angeles. His private clientele includes professionals and top executives from the fields of entertainment, medicine, corporate/business, as well as students, models, Academy and Grammy Award winners.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ But in 2003, Johnny overcame a serious life threatening accident that came close to ending his massage career forever. A private jet crashed into his home and he was badly injured. Doctors and therapists told him due to the severity of the injuries to his back and wrist, he wouldn’t be able to massage again. Not only did he have to face three months without being able to walk, but he also believed he would have to find a whole new career. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~P art of his rehabilitation involved traveling to his family’s home country of El Salvador for lower cost physical therapy. There he had the pleasure of meeting a blind healer, Carlitos, who used ancient Mayan and Papil Indian traditions and beliefs for healing, centering, and realigning the body. The work, patience, and “Cariño†given to Mr. Nelson on these visits to Central America, rebounded his body, mind, spirit, and soul. This new understanding of healing gave him the faith in himself to start massaging again and gave birth to the “Cariño Massage.â€~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~Four long years later, after developing a consistent “Cariño Massage,†he has expanded his private practice into a full massage retreat in the heart of Los Angeles.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~After almost 20 years of training and practice, Johnny shares his refreshing method of massage by training other licensed, certified massage therapists in this style, so they too can provide you with “Cariño†at our location.
