About Me
Born and raised in London, ON, rap music has been influential on Made Wade as far back as he can remember. He started a collection of cassette tapes at the young age of 6, blasting classics from Sir Mix-A-Lot, LL Cool J and The Fresh Prince. Wade occasionally strayed to enjoy artists from other genres of music, but couldn't deny the heavy presence of rap in the group/foster homes he was living in and out of during the mid 1990's.As he grew older, his understanding for lyrics also grew. Living part-time with single, low-income parents in areas of the city where poverty was rampant, he became quite familiar with the division of social classes. As Wade continued to explore rap music and hip hop culture, he found himself immersed in the underground scenes that already existed in his city and the new ones that were appearing all over the country. English class helped him discover his writing/performing talents and Made Wade was soon born. Now in his early 20's, he's been featured on Off Da Tracks radio (88.1 FM Toronto, ON), has received considerable play on The X (106.9 FM London, ON), holds a KOTD battle record of 1-1, is a former winner of Dwayne Morgan's Roots Lounge Slam, a two-time winner of both the Toronto Poetry Slam and the $100 Slam, an individual finalist in the 2009 Rustbelt Poetry Slam and a team finalist in the 2009 Canadian Festival of Spoken Word. He has been featured in shows with other rising talents Ray Black, Bill Maka, Eddy Diaz and Scott Jackson, and has helped open for artists such as Shad K, Down with Webster, Crown-A-Thornz and DL Incognito.Making his own way in life and rhyming everyday, he no longer writes anything down. His rhymes have become an extension of his being and Made Wade's potential as an artist is limitless.
