About Me

New,Fresh,Different, like nothing you've ever heard.....Matt Hadden's new solo project takes the no rules approach to the guitar. Wandering through my own Echo......is a cd that tends to ignore the rules, and express itself.....in words that have yet 2 B written.Music Style Rock,Jazz,New Age,Metal,Classical........rolled into a egg rollMusical Influences Buddha,Coltrane,Beethoven,Prince,BucketheadSimilar Artists The sound of one hand clappingGuitarist Matt Hadden has been re-ordering the edges of rock, jazz & alien world music ever since he heard Coltrane’s "Love Supreme". His sonic pioneering has always used a rock sound, minus the usual constraints of that (or any other) form. The natural development of this artist has led to an exploration of personal possibilities via solo recording & performance: 'Wandering through my own Echo' is his first serious foray into this territory. Matt worked alone in his small studio, building some brooding & complex moods, implausibly lush & screaming guitar melodies, tying modern angst together with odd song forms, arching soundscapes and a classic blues tune gone wrong. Matt said of the creation of this record, "'Wandering through my own Echo' is my (public) meditation on the insanely unspeakable beauty inherent in the harshness of our mortality, a meditation on limitations; no, I take that back, hand me a beer, would you?" Anyone interested in the way in which contemporary music can challenge & reflect the shape of things to come will find solo Hadden-Wandering through my own Echo' an ideal resource & a peculiarly familiar & welcome release.
