I have profound respect for bands like Social D and Red Hot Chili Peppers who have been around the block a few times and are STILL making great music. Like Pantera, Misfits, GNR ( Yes I said Guns N Roses), Janis Joplin, DHC, Op Ivy, Portishead, Zombie, H20, Ani DiFranco, Indigo Girls, NIN, Depeche Mode, Smiths/Morrissey, SamIAm, Muse, Sinatra, the Doors, Less than Jake, the Cure,Flogging Molly, Everything but the Girl, Mars Volta, Billie Holiday, Pinback, Dresden Dolls, Beck, Celia Cruz, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Tool, Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Bad Religion, Mazzy Star, XTC, Pixies, Rise Against,Temple of the Dog, Janes Addiction. Do I need to continue or do you get the point?
Time pieces, Epics, any sci-fi/fantasy, movies that make you think. I love Gone with the Wind, Green Street Hooligans, Crank, Dangerous Beauty, Waiting, Serenity, Dune, Pirates, any Quentin Tarantino, and I have a new found adoration for chic flicks and teeny-bopper movies.
Prefer movies, but watch a lot of Disney Channel - I have a 6 yr old (that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!)
Anne Rice, Robert Jordan's WOT, John Grisham, Harry Potter, Wicked. Read (and enjoyed) in the last few months: Walk of Shame (Hilarious! Do you know your slut-sign?), Son of a Witch, Revenge of the Middle Aged Woman, Little Earthquakes, Eragon/Eldest, Good Omens, the Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch (long title, I know).
