music is power.
sound energy that is focused and organized to move us, to stir us, to call us forth, to draw us into recognizing something inside ourselves and in the world around us; to confirm and to challenge us. In our daily struggles to defy and defeat the forces of global domination - and to create worlds of joy and dignity in their place - the music that we make together can serve to root us in our histories, to affirm our experiences, to build our senses of connection and community, and to kindle our loving and fighting spirits."I've seen the setting sun in California, heard mountain winds, they howl and moan, and I've seen that half moon rising up above, heard the sound of the train that will carry me home."

38 Acres For Sale Zoned For Light Industry
I wonder as I drivemy poorly made American car
across the Southern piedmont
what industry do we have that is
lighter than a strand of pine trees,
a jagged creek, a cow or two, a horse,
a rusty hay wagon, some red dirt, a
rotted leaning shed, a tin roof
above a green field, or a flat
piece of empty landscape.
I wonder as I drive
what we are doing to ourselves
to let this all go poof in the air
faster than a moon rocket with-
out one thought save a quick
shrug of sadness.
I wonder what is lighter than land. Can an
industry float in the mind like an
eagle?
