About Me

There is a saying that goes…"everyone sometime or another will get fifteen seconds of fame in their lifetime". For actress and media personality, Jalene Mack, fifteen seconds will just not be enough. As a young child watching Kim Fields in the popular sitcom "Facts of Life", Jalene became inspired to be an actress. Raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, she started her quest for the bright lights with dance lessons and partaking in theatrical productions in school. Attending Xavier University in New Orleans and subsequently graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Mass Communications, Jalene took drama classes at the University of New Orleans to continue her quest of becoming a versatile actress. Knowing that she had to survive while she pursued acting, Jalene decided her “waitressing job" would be working as an entertainment lawyer. So she attended Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law and she was admitted to the bar soon after. Her family moved from New Orleans to Los Angeles and Jalene continued to make moves into the world of "lights, camera, and action!" So engaged in the business, her experience both in front and behind the camera lead Jalene to form her own production company, Off Hollywood Productions, allowing her to develop projects for such forums as film and television as well as teach classes and workshops to other budding talent. As she practiced law, Jalene continued to take acting lessons and accept film, television, and stage play roles. Jalene’s most notable feature projects to date include leads in Warner Brothers Home Video..DVD release of Arch Sports & Entertainment's film Treasure in Tha Hood in the role of Sister Joyce starring opposite Reynaldo Rey (BET’s Comic View) and Katt Williams (Friday After Next, The Tracy Morgan Show); Maverick Entertainment Home Video..DVD release of Break-A-Way Films’ My Big Phat Hip Hop Family in the role of Amber starring opposite actress Anna Maria Horsford (Amen, Friday); and cast in the role of Dana Cady in the CBS Movie of the Week The Madam’s Family: The Truth About Canal Street Brothel, Jalene starred opposite Tony Award Winner and Academy Award Nominee Ellen Burstyn (Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore); and starring as Jasmine in her self-written play, Off Hollywood: The Play, a performance that earned a standing ovation.Although she can pull off any role, Jalene’s strength is in comedy. Jalene’s improvisational skills lend to her ever-expanding opportunities to expose the world to her comedic talents. Her performance with actor/comedian Katt Williams in the comedy Treasure in Tha Hood and her comedic antics in My Big Phat Hip Hop Family provided the momentum she needed to continue to present her true comedic acting skills. The audience response from both performances led Jalene to further shape her knack for comedy by making her debut at an open mic set at Houston’s renowned showcase for emerging and professional stand up comedians at the Laff Stop which helped to build her foundation as a comedic actress. Jalene’s outgoing personality keeps her in demand as an emcee and host for live celebrations, events and concerts. Emceeing and opening for comedian Ricky Smiley at the Houston Reliant Arena for the Midsummer Meltdown Comedy Show & Concert presented yet another opportunity to expand as a comedic actress. Jalene will tell you she is not a comedian… she is just an actress acting like a comedian. That may be the case but Jalene Mack's career is definitely on the rise. Her phenomenal combination of intelligence, talent and beauty brings undeniable life to any character she takes on.
