About Me

Though this biography was written by Haroun it is not an autobiography. Autobiography is commonly defined as: the incapability to write about onseself successfully in the third person. Haroun does not fear judging himself from the third-person. It is not a compromise in Haroun's ego, it's an effective multiplication.
In a far-away place where illegal fireworks are sold by teenagers riding bicycles with plastic bags around the handlebars and children of different African and Middle-Eastern roots battle each other in the ghetto with Roman Candles, Haroun's parents decided that it would be wise to have their child in the city of great opportunity: Lyon, France. The exact date, March 18, 1987, was not planned.
Education is so subjective that Haroun tests the waters of genius and illiteracy at the same time. Haroun frequently recieved star stickers on his spelling tests in 1st through 6th grade. (Obviously one can deduce that spelling tests ended after 6th grade, otherwise Haroun would still be collecting stars, and they would probably be gold too) Haroun completed the International Baccalaureatte Program after 4 years in high school and still does not know what Baccalaureatte means. Haroun went to the Colorado School of Mines and learned that calculus is the language of engineers and that desirable girls can be an endangered species. You may have noticed that the period between elementary and high school is missing. That is because Haroun did not learn anything in middle school.
Haroun's parents often listened to a variety of Eastern music. Haroun did not understand the lyrics as he was not fluent in jibberish at that point in life. Haroun did acquire an appreciation for the universal beauty of sound and melody as well as Spanish Flan. Often spending hours playing a game boy, Haroun found a synthetic beauty in 8 bit music, contributing heavily to his enjoyment of electronic music and his need to wear contacts. (Haroun's contact lenses are an enhancement, it does not deter his productivity)
Haroun's influences include many artists from the radio show FriskyRadio, which opened his mind to the unlimited power of progressive house and breaks. Haroun has learned immensely from his Uncle Massoud's project: Kabul Workshop. A fusion of Eastern culture and drum and bass, Trigana is the CD that keeps Haroun connected to his homeland and reminds him of his roots. (This is an important fact. A tree grows and survives by absorbing water through its roots. If a tree does not communicate with its roots, the tree ceases to live. Similarly, if Haroun's does not communicate with his roots, he grows new ones.

Haroun began to collect choons in early 2006 and in fall 2006, he broadcasted his first sets on Mines Internet Radio, a local university server. His set was featured in 2007 on FriskyRadio on the well known "feelin' frisky" session.
At the moment, Haroun's taste ranges from deep house, tech house, progressive house, to trance and drum and bass. For the future, Haroun hopes to build up more records and more experience playing for crowds and refining his taste. Soon, he would like to play at local night clubs and visit other countries.
