Christian Myspace Layouts - Cross MySpace Layouts Christian Myspace LayoutsTomar Jackson was born in Philadelphia, PA., the son of Alvin and Mary Jackson, raised to be a God-fearing man. He received his early education by attending Christian private schools. After graduating from Cedar Grove Christian Academy he attended the Center of Urban Theological Seminary.Tomar grew up attending, Holy Temple Church of God in Christ, where his pastor was the late Bishop Ozro T. Jones, Jr., who was like a grandfather to him. At the tender age of five, Tomar accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. Not long after accepting Christ, Sister Katherine “Kitty” Parham, who was also like a grandmother to Tomar, made him a choir director over the children’s choir known as the Templeaires. Many people were in awe with the anointing that rested on young Tomar. His passion and energy were amazing. Later, other singing ministries within Holy Temple would request Tomar to serve as their choir director as well.Eventually, Tomar was stretched and pushed to do more, by serving as a member of the Board of Directors for the Commonwealth State Mass Choir. This afforded Tomar the opportunity to work with many gospel artists, such as Donnie McClurkin, Timothy Wright, Hezekiah Walker and many others. The Commonwealth State Mass Choir, ministered throughout the Tri-State area before world renown preachers such as; the late Bishop Gilbert E. Patterson, Bishop Charles E. Blake, Bishop Thomas D. Jakes, Bishop Marvin L. Winans, just to name a few.At the age of seventeen, Tomar acknowledged and answered God’s call to ministry. He not only served faithfully in music ministry, but also in other capacities as well such as; youth counselor/advisor, intercessor and teacher. After serving faithfully for nineteen years at Holy Temple, the Lord saw fit to take him out of his comfort zone.In 1995 the Lord sent Tomar to Victory Christian Center of Philadelphia, under the leadership of his brother in the faith, Bishop Jimmie A. Ellis, III. Victory Christian Center was the place where Tomar was given the opportunity to apply all that he had learned. He was such a gifted and anointed vessel, in so many areas of ministry, he found himself serving as a leader over various auxiliaries. He was given the responsibility to form a mass choir, which was called the Celebration Mass Choir. This choir was afforded the opportunity to minister with recording artists such as; Donald Lawrence, Kurk Carr and Karen Clark-Sheard.While at Victory, Tomar also served as a praise & worship leader, armor-bearer, evangelism team member and as youth pastor. After eight years of faithful service and much prayer, Tomar was lead by the Holy Spirit to join Freedom Christian Bible Fellowship where the overseer is Bishop Gilbert Coleman, Jr. Presently Tomar can be found serving as an integral part of the Worship Council.Tomar is a faithful and loving servant of God, in his local assembly and supportive to many ministries throughout the Tri-State area. For some he is a spiritual father and a big brother. To others he is a mentor, counselor, spiritual advisor or a minister. However, if you ask Tomar who he is, his answer will be “A Man After God’s Heart!”
