Steven "Q-Beatz" Kubie Full Bio
Everything Steven "Q-Beatz" Kubie does in the studio turns out to be a project of epic proportions. Based in Coral Springs, Florida, Steven has been producing music since 1999, at the early age of thirteen. He considers himself a "one-stop-shop" in that he produces the music, records the artist, helps during the writing process and with vocal production if necessary, and finally mixes the song down to completion. Steven is acknowledged by his peers in the industry as a perfectionist who adds a signature professional touch to every project he takes on, and is referred to as more than just a mere beat-maker since he enjoys working closely with the artist as much as possible during the creative process. He is a blast to work with, due to his sarcastic and comical nature, but he is serious with his craft and is never afraid to speak his mind when something is not up to par and needs improvement. Steven "Q-Beatz" Kubie draws his inspiration from everyday things including girls, movies and the mall. His sound is unique, and he can adapt to any artist's specific request, and that is what keeps many of Steven's clients coming back again and again.
Steven "Q-Beatz" Kubie produced his first radio single, "Get Nasty" by Wolfpak, in 2004. It was a big accomplishment for him, and led him to produce and engineer Wolfpak's full-length album Feeding Time, which remains commercially unreleased. Steven continued to produce for local artists out of his bedroom studio, and continued building relationships and honing his production skills. He became curious about the inner workings of the studio, so in 2006, he enrolled in classes at SAE Institute in Miami to study deeper into audio engineering. While attending school, Steven collaborated with his professor Brimstone to co-produce and engineer a KRS-One tribute song featuring 20 rappers from the Miami area, as well as another song with a verse by KRS-One himself that was produced by Steven. After graduation in 2007, Steven "Q-Beatz" Kubie established his production company, Steven Kubie Productions, LLC, and began an internship at the world famous Circle House Studios in North Miami. During his internship, he assisted recording and mixing sessions with engineer James M. Wisner for projects including Donnie Klang, Ne-Yo, Seven Aurelius, DJ Khaled, Casely, Danity Kane, Day26, The Runners and Petey Pablo. He was involved in many of the songs that were depicted on MTV's Making The Band 4, as much of the music for those projects was recorded at Circle House Studios. Steven Kubie recieved assistant engineer(recording) credits in Donnie Klang's Just A Rolling Stone release on the songs "Intro", "Dr. Love", "Bedroom Interlude", "My Bedroon", "Spank Me" and "Rolling Stone". Steven was also the assistant engineer(recording) on Danity Kane's Welcome To The Dollhouse, but was uncredited on songs "Bad Girl", "Pretty Boy" , "Lights Out", "Is Anybody Listening", "Poetry", and "Ecstacy". While Steven was recording the reference version of "Ecstacy" with songwriter Mary Brown, he chopped up a sample of her voice and added it to the beat which made it through to the final version of the song.Steven ended his internship after five months to concentrate more on production again, and in the spring of 2008, he scored a massive hit on WPOW Power 96 with one of his productions, "Friends Wit Benefits" by P. Dot & The Back Pack Clik. As that song started gaining momentum, Steven received a call from Seven Aurelius and reconnected with him to become his personal assistant. He helped Seven with various matters as Donnie Klang's album neared completion. From Seven, Steven learned about the importance of the vibe in the studio to make sure the mood and the atmosphere is just right to have the greatest outcome possible. In May of 2008, Steven "Q-Beatz" Kubie contacted Level 6 Records to inquire about producing music for Gwop Boyz. He received a call from an A&R at the label. They immediately joined up in the studio and proceeded to consistently pound out numerous potential hit singles. The chemistry between Gwop Boyz and Steven was apparent from their first meeting, and it is a testament to Steven's ability to bring the best out of the artists he works with, and of his hands-on approach in aligning the artist with productions that are tailored specifically to them.Steven's music has been featured on such television shows as MTV Cribs: 50 Cent Edition, From G's to Gents, Rob & Big, and Road to Menudo. In addition to producing the majority of the songs on the Gwop Boyz forthcoming album ("Backshots", “Terrorize†and much more...), he is currently in the studio producing music and engineering for artists including sexy pop female vocalist Shii ("Now U Want Me Back", “Do You Reallyâ€), urban-pop singer/songwriter Adam Scott ("Object of Affection", “Runnin' Backâ€, “Get In Touch With Youâ€), P. Dot and the Back Pack Clik ("Friends Wit Benefits"), explosive female rap artist Baby Girl Teeny ("Outcha Seat"), Miami lyricist 2explicit ("Imma Do Me", “Mind Gamesâ€, “On Meâ€), and suburban poet Burban Street ("Journey Through My Mind", “Diamond In The Roughâ€). Steven is a man of many movements and loves to team up with different writers as well as other talented producers. He has many additional projects lined up for the near future with independent and major label artists. When Steven isn’t producing beats or engineering, he writes lyrics and has been working hard on his own artist material that showcases his knack for multi-syllable rhyming, outrageous metaphors, clever wordplay, and unconventionally humorous song topics. Aside from his own productions and songs, Steven has always been a big fan of “chopped & screwed†music and in his spare time loves to chop and screw his favorite songs and makes his own volumes of screwed music for his personal collection. Steven loves to mess around on Photoshop and even makes his own funny t-shirts which you can always catch him wearing!Steven "Q-Beatz" Kubie has confidence in his productions and work ethics and knows that he can produce hits for any artist. He is hardworking, dependable, driven, and most of all has the determination to succeed.
Steven is currently seeking a serious manager who can help shop his productions(instrumental tracks, beats with hooks, and full songs).UPDATE: Steven "Q-Beatz" Kubie & songwriter Adam Scott have been teaming up to produce/write demos to shop to major artists. (Whether it be a beat with just a hook or a full song.)more updates coming soon....
