About Me

Me? Just a regular sort with a penchant for mystery, danger, intrigue, lemonade with ice, tequila without, and happiness all around. Lived in London, Bratislava, Honolulu, Tokyo, Ohrid (Macedonia), Black Rock City, and have visited every continent except Antarctica. Currently live in a century-old estate on a secluded mountaintop north of downtown Los Angeles. Favorite places: Bora Bora, Istanbul, Banff, Dakar, Hong Kong, Kyoto, Rotterdam, Oaxaca, London, Firenze, Budapest, Praha & Krakow... Written movies, taught at universities, been a 3D animator, supervised visual effects, helped edit bestselling novels, worked at a reform school, tutored Latin, and designed villains & heroes for movies. Have made an exceptional fool of myself on many occasions and will again. Was science consultant on Spider Man 2, and recently finished work on SM3. Work with artist & superior human being, Marcos Lutyens.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People with talent, innate aesthetics and insatiable curiosity. Ability to handle the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune a must. If you think my moon sign is "really important", then we're definitely not on. As for notables, I'd love to have met or meet... Derren Brown, Hassan i Sabbah, Phil Ivey, Van Gogh, Amelia Earhart, David Milch, HRH Princess Olga of Denmark & Greece, V.S. Ramachandran, Sacha Baron Cohen, M.R. James, Julian Barbour, David Deutsch, Richard Turner, the Adria brothers. Recognize five or more of these names? If so, get in touch... Or simply answer the following... When considering the current state of efforts to link quantum mechanics and general relativity, e.g., Ed Whitten's M-theory, how is it that Type IIA string theory at strong coupling actually turns out to be Type I string theory in a slightly different limit, i.e., SO(32) heterotic? Alternatively... mambo or samba... and why?

My Blog

Casino Royale

A much better film than I'd expected.

Borat...

Went to Borat last night at the Vista with Marcos & Viv, Brian, Erica and her cool pal Laura. I loved the film. Truly the funniest film I've seen in ages. The Vista is such a gorgeous theater, too....
